  • LOL, still debating the obvious?! Floyd is insecure, thus the catchweight, simple.

All the BS aside, it really is.

Now, why can't more Floyd be like this?

FWIW, I don't think the catchweight is thatawful, just like it wasn't for Pac vs Cotto. It's just very unnecessary and it diminishes the fight a little. Still a great fight though.

What I don't understand is these sucker-ass mother****ers like Havis J and Big Dunn who differentiate between Pac and Floyd. It's the same thing, you ****ing idiots. Where do you get off coming on this site and trying to tell us that the guy you like isn't doing it as bad as the one you don't?

        You for real?!

We get the fight we all asked for. People still complain but what else is new?

September 14th is the biggest event boxing has had in a while. Enjoy it.

When that fight was signed and in it's build up pretty much no one was bothered at all by the catchweight.

Only after Pacquaio beat the **** out of him did people start talking **** about the catchweight. And even then, the majority considered it one of the best performances of Pacquaio's career.

The catchweight seems to be the excuse to discredit this fight from the very get go in this case.

            • It would make for an awesome Youtube video if someone could go back through all the times Oscar said Floyd would lose, including the fight Oscar had with Floyd.

Oscar's job is to hype the fight and make the people believe Floyd can lose but it's also obvious he and Floyd don't like each other and it's also obvious Oscar would love for Floyd to lose. Just go back to the 2nd rd of the Shane fight when Shane buckled Floyd. Oscar was as giddy as a 10 yr old girl. Then to watch Oscar sink into depression the rest of the night and at the rest of Floyd's fights as he cruises to victory is always part of the PPV value and treat, imo.

              • I think 152 is a ideal weight for the fight. Floyd isnt a light-middleweight, never has been. His ideal fighting weight is 147. Why should he fight at Canelo at his best weight? And put himself at a slight disadvantage. IMO there has to be some give and take. De la **** jus talking **** again

I'd more concerned with what type of weight Canelo enters the ring at!

I think it's a great win too, probably the last time we saw a peak Pac.

I do think both he and Mayweather have to take some flak for the CW. They're just so unnecessary, and if they're gonna go there, then they can't expect to take no flak.

I'm a Mayweather hater but keeping it real - the CW really isn't that big a deal. The extreme haters are, of course, gonna latch on the CW to diminish the whole fight - it's because they weren't expecting Mayweather to front up and take it.....so when he did, the CW at least gave them something to cling on to.

Real fans know this is a fascinating fight, the best Floyd has been in for years.

One thing though - if Floyd hadn't said all that ****** sh-t about fighting fighters at healthy weights, like he did Cotto, and didn't crap on Pac - he wouldn't be taking half the heat he is.

I mean, seriously. He practically sold that fight on not doing CW like Manny. That kind of hypocrisy cannot be ignored.

Mayweather's hypocrisy can be called out, but we know this already.

Mayweather's been making hypocritical statments since 2005, since the starting stages of his "Villain" character.

I don't think his hypocrisy should have an effect on the legitimacy of the actual fight.

Oh, no doubt. This fight is totally legit to me. You know the extreme haters are gonna do what they do. On both sides, there is just no reasoning with them.

One thing that surprises me is how little chance people are giving Saul. Now, I have Mayweather 70% favourite to win, cos quite simply - he's Floyd Mayweather and he's one of the most unbeatable fighters ever.

But I really think Canelo is going to make it difficult for him. I think he's very, very underrated. He's improving from fight to fight, and he has a varied, interesting attacking arsenal that Floyd hasn't encountered in a while.

How do you see it playing out?
