Slow, uncoordinated, sloppy, sluggish, footwork laughably poor and slow.

The only reason he had any success at all is down to the fact Lara has no inside game and doesn't tie up at all. If he did, he'd have knocked him out mid way through the fight. Which is what I was expecting anyway because I knew from the outside he's just going to kill him every time.

Only thing that surprised me was that Lara allowed him to stay on him without spinning out but it also didn't surprise me all that much because I knew Lara was non existant there.

You're dreaming if you think Angulo is a problem for anyone at 154, atleast from where I stand.

Angulo's not going to beat any legitimate top 154 lber.

Molina, Trout, Cotto, Canelo all deal with him easily.

I wouldn't be surpised if Ishe Smith beat him either.

He's not very good, at all. Especially at this point.
Indeed, Angulo's footwork was painful to watch.

I kept wondering why Lara didn't get the hell off the ropes, but I'm now pretty confident it was his way of conserving energy. Alfredo was absolutely relentless. Landy couldn't keep up with that rate; his stamina wasn't on the same level. Had Lara moved any more than he did, which was already quite a bit, he would've gassed and probably been KOed.

I'm not saying Angulo is this great fighter. What I said in my previous post was "the motivated 'Perro' that we saw last night would've been a handful for virtually anyone at 154." That means I think Alfredo was at his very best last night and would've given almost anyone a run for their money. That includes all the fighters you mentioned.

And that's where I completely disagree.

Angulo "from last night" isn't a handful for anyone at the top of 154.

He loses badly to any top fighter at 154. He's awful.

Despite the unexpected good fight last night, outside of heart and will, both fighters were unimpressive and limited last night.

But let me guess, you thought Canelo was impressive vs Trout?

Unexpected great fight between these two, expected a Lara shut out.

Lara showed great heart but personally last night confirmed how overrated he is currently.

Then all of '54 is weak.

No prob wit angulo stoppin that **** looked crazy!!!!!
Gotta be a remach i dont think niether is ready for a cotto, trout,or canelo.
Both of those guys will kick the $h1t out of those three, specially Canelos, and I haven't read anyone mentioning the 10 pounds Angulo had on Lara, that could had been a factor too...

Wouldn't say weak but certainly overhyped.

That said, Canelo, Lara, Trout, Molina are all good solid fighters who would be competitive amongst one another so it's a good exciting division.

Angulo was on the up! Would like to see a rematch as I don't think Lara proved enough tonight especially considering Angulo's limited talent.
Angulo was on his way to get stopped, his momentum had pass and was getting tagged again, oh he did got stopped...

He showed superior boxing skills and ability which is to be expected because Angulo is not very good, frankly. He wasn't very good in his prime and he isn't now he's passed it. Since coming back he's looked horrible.

Lara just further showed me his limitations and a non existant inside game. He showed he's skilled, fast, sharp and on the outside very good but also further showed me he's one dimensional.

No top fighter should be having issues with Angulo at this point.
These kind of posts are what's wrong with fighters that don't get credit. We all know how limited a fighter Angulo is, but let's not act like he doesn't have the ability to beat, let alone be an elite fighter himself. Is he going to outbox the Lara's of the world, not at all, but he has one-punch power.

I just love how overrated Lara is because he got hit with flush hooks from a light heavyweight while also getting punished with body shots. Lara's known to fade later in fights, his activity level goes down, yet here he was -- not clinching when he should have -- fighting back while hurt.

I'd still pick Angulo to stop Canelo, Trout, and maybe even Kirkland in their rematch if it ever happens. Is it possible that Lara is actually an elite fighter?
