Soto is so underrated on these boards. Hes a very solid technician, a great comination puncher with a granite chin and I have no question he beats most of the top 10 @ 140 given the chance.

He fights tonight actually against Nakamori.

I genuinely feel Soto is the most underrated Mexican fighter out there.

Lucas chopped down Soto and made him quit in his corner. Lucas has a good chin and his body punching is lethal

IMO he is over-rated. What is his best win? Solid fighter but can be out fought

I don't think he quit, looked to me like he was on ***** St and didn't know where he was and didn't respond to his corner as he slumped down so they stopped the fight.
The guy was out of it.

Probably Antillion or prime, undefeated Juarez. I think hes a very good fighter who hasn't really got the resume to back it.
He was very avoided in the lower weights.
Not saying Manny ducked him but Soto destroyed Bobby and Manny said he wanted revenge for his brother and Soto did everything to try get that fight.

Yea when I first saw it I thought Soto quit too. But now it's clear to me that he was just out of it and his corner recognized it. The only reason the ref didn't stop it is because the round ended. Soto couldn't even step forward without holding onto the ropes.

Because he's always been a mediocre boxer. He's generally avoided fighting the best in his division and fought stiffs who weren't even genuine contenders. I was shocked that he even signed up to fight Matthysse, because fighting world class opposition is just something he doesn't do (that's just how he rolls, man.)

Of course you would think that. When you're so in love with another fighter, you'll naturally elevate that fighter's more notable wins. This is how fanboys/cultists work.

judah simply being judah isn't really much of an argument. he's been in tough fights lately. his talent is less than what it used to be, but he's not a frontrunner, or soft, the way he was once perceived. judah and alexander are not great fighters, but they're true 140-147 lbers with a tenure at the weights, who are fresher at this stage in their careers.

soto has had 70 fights. 500 rounds.
he's been a pro since he was a boy. his best work was done at 130 and 135, and even an "interim belt" @ 126. he was always a good offensive fighter, and a fun one to watch, but he's fading and would be up against bigger guys with bad styles for him. as much as i hate devon alexander, i think he'd beat him the worst. he wouldn't really beat him up, because that's really not what he does, but he'd use the ring and land the cleaner punches. i don't think it would be hard to score.

he was a few baby steps from going back out on that chair. that was scary. he was on ***** street when he rocked abck to the ropes, and then he got nailed with that massive matthysse right hand when he came flying in. scary stuff.

he couldn't even open his eyes in the corner. first time he was stopped in 13 years, when he was a very young man.

That was actually a kind of scary sight seeing Soto like that while on his "feet" so to speak.
