Just finished watching Matthysse Vs Soto

I don't understand why people think Lucas is invincible. Soto had him rocked and wobbled q couple of times and as early as the second round and was consistently hitting him with good to great shots.

I also noticed that Matthysse fought this fight very dirty with numerous punches to the back of the head just as he did in the Peterson fight.

With all that being said, if Danny Garcia can keep away from the hits to the back of the head, I think he can definitely out box Matthysse and win this fight by decision by at least 2 rounds.

Danny Garcia is too flat footed to keep away from any boxers punches to be honest, but Soto did a good job of combinations & moving against Lucas....but Lucas adjusted & cut him off well.

Plus Lucas has improved fight after fight....Ajose Olusegun fought similar to Soto against Lucas & IMO is better then Soto at 140....look what happened in their fight.

Was Matthysse getting tagged? yep...was he hurt & wobbled...no.

You mean round 2 when Soto is left sitting flat on his ass? Please.
That's rich given that in the end of round 1 the referee goes to Soto corner and tells him in Spanish to cut it out with the back of the head punching. In spite of that he keeps hooking his punches and hitting him in the back of the neck on purpose.
When the referee warns Matthysse, the commentator said " a lot of warning for not much that happened". The hand on the back of the head goes both ways. You're not supposed to head butt either, youre not supposed to hit the other boxers stomach with your head and youre supposed to keep your head above the wasitline of your opponent. Sotto hit him in the back of the neck and hold him with the jab by the end of round 1. Sotto asked for a 10 round fight, he got his 10 round fight, and a referee that clearly favored him. Got to minute 12:50 The comentator says what Im saying the referee is very active, and biased against Matthysse. Its right there man, you can see it and the commentator notices it too.

That Matthysse is hittable isn't really in dispute, the problem is how much punishment you have to take in return if you want to trade with him. No one is capable of sustaining that sort of fight with him. Anyone who tries is likely to get worn down and stopped.

Being real, I would say Soto was Matthysse's second best win. Soto would have beaten Alexander and Judah at 140, he would have beaten Ajose as well.

              styles make fights.

i think judah and alexander would beat soto pretty easily. they're bigger, faster guys with better boxing skills. alexander has a great chin, too.

ajose wasn't anybody to write home about. i can see soto beating him, but it's certainly a competitive fight.

I never said that Lucas didn't beat down Soto. My point is that it's not out of the question for someone with Garcia power in both hands to rock him which I think will happen.

Can't say I agree with this. At this point Soto is his third best win. #1 being PEDerson and #2 being Ajose. That's of course if you think Lucas really lost vs Alexander and Judah. I think Ajose is pretty underrated. I'd say he's top 5 in the division. He'd beat Garcia and Khan for sure. Ajose does everything Khan does but better. We know Garcia was getting his ears boxed off by Khan and he ain't knocking Ajose out. And well, Khan is Khan so yea Ajose beats him. At this point who doesn't really.

Would be interesting to see him vs PEDerson tho.
