The reality here is that Canelo has just managed to beat his first legit JMW (Trout) and got himself a decent passing grade. And now he's matched against the best fighter of this generation, maybe the best in the last couple. Canelo is not an elite fighter. In September, he's going to be embarrassed. Floyd will take him to School. This fight is purely about business, because remove Canelo's cash cow status, and the core question becomes: does the current Canelo best represent the fighter to unseat Floyd? I feel most honest BOXING fans will respond, NOPE.

Old Dela Hoya and fat Hatton gave Floyd worrisome rounds. Far faded Mosley almost KTFO him. Castillo gave the young Floyd his first loss. Thing is, no one among those mentioned comes even close to beating Canelo at this time. Let's see how strong Canelo's mind is. If he ends up with an insect brain's like Ortiz, say Sayonara to his unbeaten record.

I hope Canelo can go to the body.
I think Canelo wins via Mayweather breaking both of his fists.

Trust me, Canelo will be able to get him where he wants him,
it's a matter of will he be able to capitalize on the opportunity?
I'm also a huge Guerrero fan but he is slow as a snail compared to Alvarez, that speed factor is going to play a big factor.
Alvarez has a tall order in front of him but he is going to provide the toughest challenge Floyd has faced since the ODLH fight,
I'd venture to guess much more of a challenge than Oscar presented.

His improvement in defense last fight vs Trout was amazing. Yeah, I know, Trout isn't Floydie... so what?
I'm talking about a fighter who improves a lot with each fight lately, and one who is still young, who is fast, tough, strong, patient, relentless.
He just needs to improve his stamina at this point.
Whether he wins or not isn't as important to me as the challenge he puts forth.
And Floydie will definitely know he's been in a fight when it's over, win or lose.
Canelo is one of the best opponents Floydie has faced so far.
no he's not... he's just one of the biggest and cherrypicker is making him drop down to 152 just to minimize that advantage

When September 14th comes around, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Canelo is not going to target the head of Mayweather and chase a knockout that never comes by trying to land a shot to the chin. Instead the 22-year-old boxer will target the body to break Mayweather down, and then place his shots upstairs.

I have Canelo winning by Ko. This is the most confident I've ever felt about the threat level of Floyds opposition ever.

4) Floyd can time the jab, duck underneath, get close and work inside
5) Floyd can catch the jab with his right hand then counter with his own jab
There are so many things that Floyd does to take peoples jab away.
De la hoya by far had the best jab of any fight that Floyd ever fought.
But by round 4 Floyd made Delahoya reluctant to throw the jab because he was getting caught with counter right hands.
Cotto was ok with the jab as well but that was a flat footed Floyd who was trying to be entertaining.
If Floyd fights like he did against Guerrero....no fighter will beat him or even touch him.
Best defense in history.
