Oh I agree, but the way he is talking now makes me think that he won't leave the country.

I actually hope he does come to the UK to fight Froch, he'd get a hell of a lot of respect for doing it and we all know he is 90% likely to win. But the way he talks about you need to come to the US to be a star doesn't suggest he'll fight abroad.

Its unfair how the US treat England like a province at times, its been said.

Ward has about 10 years left to take a few easy token fights against guys he will easily beat.

I would actually think more highly of Calzaghe if he didn't travel for the RJJ fight. I give him negative credit for the timing of that.

no doubt joe wouldve fought him... ward is a great boxer, but not a "dangerous" one... and joe has got insane conditioning & workrate.

i wouldve loved to see this.

The UK also loses track of the fact that they are of minor significance in the boxing world.

UK fans have been ready to anoint either Fury of Price as the next Klitschko simply because they are the best big guys on a decent sized island.

Then they go off and fight a couple mediocre Americans and embarrass themselves. One getting knocked out by a girl punch, the other getting put on his ass by a guy 50 lbs lighter.

Maybe when the British fans stop in the incessant overrating of their fighters just cause they sell tickets to drunken soccer fans then other nationalities will feel less need to tear them down to their real place in the sport.

I think he would have. Would have been speed for speed. Wish we could have seen it.

Its funny how people will correct a percieved misperception..."Joe didn't duck Hopkins, actually ________happened!"

Truth is Joe has a history of somehow not fighting the best comp available....the mere fact that each of these instances must be explained should tell one all they need to know. Its the same with the Klits and with Sven Ott (who was mentioned on this thread).

Joe's dad prolly saw how weak Lacy was and decided it was worth the risk. This is the most consistant explanation for what would occur with Ward.
