If they can get a rehydration clause in the contract that says Canelo can't weigh more than 165 on fight night then the fight should be easy to make.

If not then why would Floyd fight Ortiz when Ortiz was 164 and why did he make the comment about Cotto saying he wants to fight guys at their most comfortable weight.
Of course the fight needs to be at 154.

I don't believe Marquez did say it.

A poster said it and now we have a crowd of morons still believing it's true a good 4 years later despite everything pointing to the reality, which is he's clearly never been close to 160 lbs.

No body went crazy about the weight difference until recently. Floyd's fought a ton of guys way bigger than him so that doesnt matter. He's going to be the smaller guy most of the time. The problem is 2 fold. At one point people thought with age and Floyd going to jail/looking a lil swoll, that he may have put on some more weight. At the same time Canelo was mostly 165 on fight night so it was big but something Floyd could be use to even though he's still obviously more naturally bigger, stronger than Ortiz.

However, then the Trout fight came and in the whole leadup you could see that both those guys looked huge. Way bigger naturally than Floyd. Then on fight night Canelo was 172 while at the same exact time the thing comes out about Floyd already being 148 at the 30 day weigh-in. It changed alot of things for people.

Thats not even including the fact that Canelo seemed much stronger & physical then a huge guy in Trout while alot of people thought Cotto had success pushing Floyd around and Canelo is much bigger/stronger than Cotto. The thing that would help Canelo a ton (if the fight doesnt get made for September) is if Canelo in his next fight comes into the ring at 165 again.

I dont see that happening though because he's young and still growing so he's likely to go the other way and be 173 or 174 in his next fight

Skill does win fights but why let your opponent know he has a big weight advantage when you don't have to? And besides, Floyd did weigh in for Ortiz and was 150 fight night so if your position is contrary to that then there is no real hope for you. Whether I enjoy Floyds fights or not has nothing to do with hard evidence, so instead of talking crap for a change, why don't you stick to the evidence, not the Illuminati conspiracy theories?

Bro against Ortiz, Lampley said Floyd was 150, and Ortiz was 164lb. Against Cotto he weighed in at 152 on the official scales. Why didnt he just weigh in at 154, if he is at a whopping 160? It is MY opinion, that if this guy weighs in at 150-152, then because he's a natural ww, he will accidentally rehydrate to 147 or 148. And against Cotto, he tried to wrestle with him, and Cotto bulldozed and Floyd slid backwards on his feet. If Cotto is a blown up 54lber, then why wasnt Floyd strong enough to at LEAST deal with him physically, since Floyd too, would be a blown up jr mw? To me he looked 147.

Canelo would have a massive 22 pound advantage most likely. This is the reason why same day weigh ins need to come back.

Look at his body on fight night. Regardless of his fl0mo nut huggers, you can tell he's a pretty big, good sized welter. I would say 157-160. There's a reason why he doesn't tell his fight night weight. He's bigger than he says.

i actually believe that canelo bulked a lil more than he normally does cuz he knew Trout was the bigger guy, he didnt seem to have problems at the weigh in, thats where his problem will be at some point... he will not need to re-hydrate that much against floyd where he is already the bigger guy, i dont see him having issues with a re-hydration clause, the problem will be on a catch weight... he simply wont make 150lbs or less...
