Good one.....mattyssee wins over a past prime Judah and Alexander are the stuff of legend lol. He lost those fights, the kds made them close he clearly lost more rounds. Face it. Mattyssee beat Peterson and that his only top ten win. Alexander has several over two weight classes won titles.

Some of you dudes have an agenda crying about a fighter who deserves or earned a shot a Mayweather. He does whether he is exciting or not. Open your eyes Alexanders last 7 or 8 fights include comp mattysse hasn't seen in an entire 30+
    Fights.

Lucas got robbed vs Judah and Alexander #1 and I honestly don't even care if Floyd fights Devon. It's a horrible fight, will do ****ty ppv numbers and unless there is a great fight on the undercard, like a guy in a big fan of, I might just skip the whole event all together. Sept will have more then enough good boxing for me.

Why are we settling for him fighting a mediocre opponent JUST because he fought ones before?

I agree with people who hype those 2 losses, Matthysse looked like **** in those fights and the guy is clearly overrated on this site. But he did beat Devon, he looked sloppy doing it, but he did win, Zab you can make a case for though which is worse.

Lucas would be a better fight, he beat 2 top 5 guys at 140, and Soto and Ajose were much better opponents then anyone Devon fought other then Maidana. But i would only want to see the fight if lucas beats Garcia. Floyd should fight Canelo, simple

And again he fought good competition but lost to 3 of them, the best 3 nonetheless in a row!

I say Maidana should get a shot after all hes fought Khan, Alexander, Kotelnik, Morales, Ortiz, soon to be Lopez!

Wow what a resume, forget his losses he should definitely get a shot against Floyd!

I've warmed up a bit to this fight. From a competitive standpoint I would actually prefer Alexander to Khan. The only problem for Devon is that he's a "solid puncher", but that won't be enough to command respect from Mayweather.

I still like Alexander...partly because I considered him the real deal after KO'ing Urango like a boss.

Nothing he's done in his recent fights makes me think the same of him BUT I still believe he's a good fighter. I wouldn't mind seeing Alexander v Khan but for either of those 2 fighters to even be mentioned in the same sentence as being in the years biggest boxing PPV is laughable.

Please stop hyping Ajose and Soto just to make Matthysse resume to look good, He shouldn’t get a Floyd fight either based on styles and resume.

But they did. According to GBP and Mayweather Promotions, Guerrero and Ortiz were qualified contenders to land a fight with Floyd Mayweather. If that's the job requirement, Devon is a qualified candidate.

                      Guerrero's previous 7:

                      Klassen
                      Arieta
                      Casamayor
                      Escobedo
                      Katsidis
                      Aydin
                      Berto

                      Ortiz previous 7

                      Maidana
                      Diaz
                      Alatorre
                      Nate Campbell
                      Vivian Harris
                      Lamont Peterson
                      Berto

                      Alexander previous 7

                      Wittter
                      Urango
                      Kotelnik
                      Bradley
                      Matthysse
                      Maidana
                      Bailey
                      Purdy

It's not even close. Devon would have been undefeated if he fought Guerrero and Ortiz' pre-Floyd resume. If Guerrero and Ortiz fought Devon's resume, two losses at least, possibly 3.

This is a legitimate welterweight championship fight.
