Lucas's power clearly outshines his skills. Its just shocking how powerful he is. Its just that his power>>>>>>skills. I think Lucas has skills but its nothing special. What is special for Lucas is his power. I'm really starting to like this guy a lot but people need to stop overrating. He will KO Danny though, that is for sure. He will be the king of 140 very soon. People act like there aren't ways to take away a fighter from getting his power off in fights. I mean have people forgot about Ali vs Foreman?

It takes sooo long to get a sentence out, by the time I'm halfway through the interview, I've wasted my time, learned nothing and heard a bunch of "ummms".

      This schit is ridiculous.
Ain't that the truth. I don't know how Matthysse would do with Floyd but I'm pretty sure he won't be one of Floyd's last 5 fights. Floyd will probably find 5 guys less dangerous than Lucas to finish up his career with.

Also to the 'Lucas has power not skills' crowd, do you not think it takes skill to generate and land power?

Timing, accuracy, technique, footwork etc are all part of power. Having power is a skill in itself. He doesnt weigh any more than other JWW's, if not a little less than most, but he hits harder than any of them. Why is that?

Stop being butt hurt, Floyd actually gave credit to Lucas here

Floyd snr actually said he was "impressive" and u don't here Floyd Snr saying that about many boxers
He has good skills. He knows how to set the traps that land his power, he does a good job for his style of not getting hit, he is excellent mixing shots to the head and body, he knows how to cut off the ring, he has good timing with his right hand.

Just because you aren't boxing off the backfoot and looking like Mayweather doesn't mean you don't have skills. Matthysse has plenty of skill.

Exactly he was reluctant to compliment matthysse the interviewer had to basically bait mayweather sr into saying something good about him

If his skills were really elite-level, he wouldn't have had trouble with Zab Judah and Devon Alexander. Those fights wouldn't and shouldn't have been close if he really had "plenty" of skills.

The guy has skills, but his skills isn't on the level of like a Marquez, Cotto, De La Hoya, etc. He's not in that league.

Let's hope so. To me Matthysse isn't even in the discussion when it comes to craftwork. Dude is a decently polished brawler. That's it.

Matthysse is an offensively minded fighter, meaning he will get tagged on occasion. Being defensively responsible just means that he will try to limit what his opponents can hit him with while also trying to land his own shots (bombs). You can see it in his head movement, how he cups his gloves to his head and picks off shots, how he judges distance etc. Bungalows isnt saying hes Floyd, just that he isnt Brandon Rios.

Another example of an offensively minded fighter who is responsible defensively imo would be someone like Broner (not that he fights like Matthysse)... his main aim is to hit and hurt people, but he isnt going to take needless punishment to achieve it.
That's just called boxing lol. Thanks a lot bobby Boucher.

Ajose was tripling up on hooks to the head and body and landing ! he did it multiple times in their fight when they were on the inside I get that you're not saying he's a defensive wizard and ill concede he is not a walking punching bag (rios type) but he does not have good/great defense he's not mike tyson. The guy has scary power and can box in spurts ... That's it.
