If him being an ex fighter and a trainer think Lucas has nothing else but power then I must say "He don't know **** about boxing!"Originally posted by HanzGruberHe gave him credit he said it was impressive to stop Lamont. He just said he doesn't have much besides his power
Besides power Lucas doesn't do anything spectacular but he does quite a few things.

It was only ONE round. No one is going to land that much in the first round. The reason he started being aggressive, is because he wanted to prove to himself that he had a good chin. He always makes it physical. Stop making up stories about him being forced to make an uneeded adjustment so soon, because of something Lucas did. Peterson just got caught, it is what it is.Comment

Exactly this. I wasn't saying he looked like a defensive master in there, just that he's not some walking punching bag, like a lot of people like to believe.
at people thinking you have to be a defensive wizard to be defensively responsible.
Matthysse is an offensively minded fighter, meaning he will get tagged on occasion. Being defensively responsible just means that he will try to limit what his opponents can hit him with while also trying to land his own shots (bombs). You can see it in his head movement, how he cups his gloves to his head and picks off shots, how he judges distance etc. Bungalows isnt saying hes Floyd, just that he isnt Brandon Rios.
Another example of an offensively minded fighter who is responsible defensively imo would be someone like Broner (not that he fights like Matthysse)... his main aim is to hit and hurt people, but he isnt going to take needless punishment to achieve it.Comment

The Mayweathers are the biggest haters of all. Just look how sensitive Floyd is when someone praises another fighter in his presence, it's like praise for anyone else is somehow costing them. A very negative bunch of people.Comment

Floyd Sr is NOT a hater like he used to be. The ONLY fighters he was negative to is Pac and Khan because of their connection with Roach, a trainer who he is competitive with. Floyd Sr is a cool dude after getting older. You must actually watch the video first. He just spoke about Lucas like a regular boxing fan who is pointing out things they see.Comment

It was three rounds. 1st round he boxed and moved, got caught a few times but did ok generally. Second round he boxed and moved got caught a few times and got badly kd'd. Third round realizing his plan wasnt working tried to switch it up and rough Matthysse up, at which point he got sparked. It was only ONE round. No one is going to land that much in the first round. Dont act like Peterson wouldnt change his gameplan that early either, the Khan fight followed the exact same pattern from a Peterson tactic point of view. First couple rounds he tried to box but was getting picked off, then he adjusted and looked to make it a dog fight.Comment

I did watch it, it's the same stuff you always get from them. Begrudging, back-handed compliments. It's like it breaks their hearts to say anything good about anyone.Floyd Sr is NOT a hater like he used to be. WRONG. Khan was LIGHTNING fast, compared to peterson and Peterson had no chance of boxing with Khan. He HAD to make it a dog fight because he would get overwhelmed with the counters, and punch output. Lucas is basically a bum with phenomenal power. Peterson boxed for 1 round, then went out of his way to prove his toughness. Its his nature to be physical, and he overestimated himself. We all saw the same fight. I dunno why people want to act like Lucas did something extraordinarily tactical to win, when Peterson was the one who abandoned a gameplan that was working, just to show grit. Based off the Judah fight, Peterson knew outboxing him would be too easy. He just wanted to "make a statement" Its is what it is, and nothing more.It was three rounds. 1st round he boxed and moved, got caught a few times but did ok generally.
