There are too many excuses for why the supposed pfp king can't fight a champ in at weight class he is a 2 time champ in. I'd understand if he wasn't touted as "the greatest fighter" of a generation. But I don't think "greatest fighter/pfp king" and cherrypicking and ducking really go together. Just doesn't compute to me.

Canelo is the type of fighter that can bring in that type of revenue, which I why he will be offered the fight. But Floyds not going to campaign there for the duration of his career. He's been at 147 since 2006 and he still cant make the 154lb limit.
You're right, I don't follow Floyd enough to know all his statements. But the bit I do follow, I have seen him contradict himself. But, yes I agree with what you said.

Or maybe people are calling for this fight because people want to see the two best title holders at 154 fight each other? The post below sounds good to me.

I have no problem with Floyd with Canelo at 154; but people need stop acting like Floyd is a career junior middleweight he's a two time champ in the only two fights there.

I want to see the fight but you can't deny the fact that the oscar fight was a fight were Floyd fought for the money and had to give in to all Oscar demands because Oscar was the man at the time. Cotto is not really a 154 pound fighter. Canelo I think he should fight only for the money and bragging rights but lets not act like canelo doesn't have a huge weight advantage. That's like when Jones fought at heavyweight he was p4p then but did we really expect him to fight Lewis, or any of the other good heavyweights at that time? He fought Ruiz.

I didn't say Canelo wouldn't have a weight advantage. However when it came top Floyd/Marquez, many of Floyd fans claimed the size didn't win Floyd the fight it was skill. So why can't Floyd's skill win him the fight against Canelo?? Too much excuses for the supposed generations greatest and pfp king. Not mine, but the majority of people list.

I feel you on the skill size I think he still wins and wants him to fight him but even though Marquez jumped up 2 weight classes on fight night him and floyd were only about 3 pounds different. But I get what you mean I want him to take the fight to simply show you know what I'm so good I can beat this guy who outweighs me by 22 pounds and is 14 years younger than me.

What is it with fans trying to negotiate fights for fighters? Has Mayweather even spoke about the fight? Everyone and their uncle said Mayweather would NEVER fight Mosley after Mosley jumped into the ring after the Marquez fight.

Then we didn't hear a peep from him or his plans, then out of the blue, Mosley fight is on. Give them some time to work out details. Fans are crazy he fought like 2 weeks ago

Floyd didn't use a weight advantage against Marquez and we know he didn't outweigh by lbs or more like Canelo would have on him. Weight would play more of a factor in that fight.

Like Bushbaby said, there are too many excuses on Floyd threads from his supporters. He can fight a guy coming up TWO weight classes but he can't go up one? Please! He's supposedly the best fighter in the world! So fight the man at 154. It's the biggest money fight available. He doesn't have arum, drug testing, or purse blocking the fight! Make the fight! Ya'll talk about Floyd and De la Hoya but if Oscar was anything like Floyd, Floyd would never have gotten his shot at the PPV king because anything that seems like a challenge doesn't seem to Interest Floyd. Oscar fought in and made the biggest fights out there when he was on top! Floyd gives you Guerro! That's a joke
