He says Canelo will be a lot tougher to beat than Mayweather's last opponent, mandatory challenger Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero, who lost a lopsided decision on May 4th in Las Vegas.

Is this a new article because I think I have seen this before? I think they simply took and old article from Oscar and inserted Alvarez's name. I seem to remember him saying the same thing about Mosley, Ortiz, Cotto and Guerrerro.

I disagree with those saying Floyd won't get get any credit for beating Ginger. I am a huge Canelo fan and would give Floyd major props for taking the fight right now.
It would be his biggest threat in many years. Canelo would be able to pressure him like no other opponent and cut of the ring like no he has seen since going to WW.
Floyd gets so much crap from the fans because more often than not he doesn't take the fight the fans are asking for.
He takes on the Ortiz's and Guerrero's instead of the Pacs, Pwill's, or Margacheato's.
I still feel that Floyd will find a way to not take this fight.
There are too many other easy opponents for him right now, why risk the 0?
I will gladly eat major crow if the fight is made now or in the future.
Who knows, maybe Floyd feels if he doesn't fight him now Canelo will continue to improve and Floyd will continue to get older.
We will see what gets made but Floyd record tells me that this fight won't happen
Right now I plan on being there live for Canelo/Cotto in September.....

But there no excuse to not fight Matthysse if you claim to be the best
Yo I agree with you on both parts! Which I am sure he would be willing to face Matthysse because on fight night Lucas might me 153 and Floyd might be 150 tops.

When he fought Ortiz, Cotto, and Guerrero, who were the better options??? Mayweather-Pacquiao we knew wasn't going to happen, because neither guy wanted it at the same time. Floyd made no 50-50 demands, Manny had avoided drug testing, and Arum certainly didn't make things easier by saying Manny couldn't go May 2012 due to the cut and the ****** stadium thing. So we knew that fight wasn't happening.

Mosley, Ortiz, Cotto, and Guerrero were all the best options for him aside from Manny that were realistic.

Floyd would beat Matthysse's ass. That wild swinging **** won't work on Floyd or any top fighter who commits to their game plan by boxing.
