  • Comments Thread For: De La Hoya Warns Mayweather: Canelo is Not Guerrero

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya expects Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs) to accept the fight with WBC/WBA 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs). He says Canelo will be a lot tougher to beat than Mayweather's last opponent, mandatory challenger Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero, who lost a lopsided decision on May 4th in Las Vegas.

Most significant thing in the article is Oscar says he knows Mayweather wants the fight and will take the fight. Positive news.

I can understand why Floyd doesn't want to fight Canelo at 154 because he would be over 165+ fight night

But there no excuse to not fight Matthysse if you claim to be the best

Mayweather vs Canelo will be turned into a Mayweather cherry pick when it's all said and done courtesy of Floyd's haters.

Matthysse won't get past Garcia. Garcia will box his head off later this year because Garcia has an extensive amateur background and was once the U.S National champ.

I don't think so. Mayweather v Canelo @ 154 is the fight right now.

They'll downplay Floyd for not trading with Canelo and give him no credit.
