You keep mentioning TROUT and you're right people did think he would out box Canelo, why I don't know. I say that because Trout had just came off a win against Cotto and people hyped him up, but think about this is the same Cotto people said was old and washed up since Margarito. So how do we really know how good Trout really is when his biggest win is against a guy that's said to be washed up. So maybe we need to see him fight another proven fighter before we give him praise bcause I think we ALL can agree before TROUT he has fought nothing but bums.

Austin Trout was the best MW of the world just in front of Canelo by almost every boxing analyst, yet people still try to devalue him with these triangle theories. Weight is the ONLY advantage Canelo would have over Floyd on fight night, why would he give that up?

Floyd schools him plain and simple, fighting a minute and a half of every round just isn't gonna cut it against Mayweather ESPECIALLY when your power punches aren't landing. He gets away with it against guys that are easy to hit (Trout, Matthew Hatton etc.) but Floyd punishes him hard.

alvarez is a 154-pound belt-holder who has only fought one 154-pounder in the three years he has held the belt. He is not in a position to make demands of floyd mayweather. However, i believe mayweather will fight him at 154 in september. After mayweather beats him and makes him look foolish in the process, alvarez can return to beating up on faded champions and 140-147 pound journeymen.

I'm not splitting hairs. The guy's been #1 rated 154 for a year, he made sure to remind us. Unlike Hatton who was a welter afterthought. Floyd is holding the 154 title right fcuking now. It'd be disgraceful for one SWW champ to drag another down.

Sure, against JWW and fellow welters. If he's fighting a fellow SWW champ, weight should not even be negotiable.

If they make the fight, Alvarez does need to understand that he has to show up and be 2 or 3x better than he has ever been if he wants to win. The weight won't matter that much.

He has power, youth, and an undefeated fighter's confidence which is all well and good. But this is obviously the biggest possible step up fight.

I would predict a Floyd UD.
