You guys are delusional. Floyd has his contract with Showtime set in stone. Floyd needs nobody, at all. Everything Floyd does looks bad on him, he has haters all around from fans to journalists. At the end of the day Floyd is the biggest draw in the sport, the top fighter in the sport, and he doesn't need Canelo or anyone else to prove that.
Canelo needs Floyd more than Floyd needs Canelo. Without Floyd, Canelo will have to build his way to superstardom the hard way: Fighting top 154 fighters night in and night out, with a fraction of the pay or exposure he can get form Mayweather. Can he still become a superstar this way? Absolutely. But that requires he take dangerous fights, like Trout, on a regular basis for years, and even after several years time he will be lucky to make what he could against Mayweather. And be lucky to get the level of cross over stardom he can against Mayweather.
From a business standpoint, Canelo has much more to lose here. And I'm honestly not sure why everyone is in such an uproar about this. I think Floyd will fight Canelo at 154. After he beats the breaks off the kid you will all go back to discrediting the win against somebody who was never that good to begin with.
And all of this, for the record, I am a fan of Canelo. I think avoiding Floyd is best for him if he wants to be the next ODLH.

Floyd is largely a paper champion at 154. Has Mayweather Jr even come out and said he won't fight Canelo above 147? I don't care what his dad is saying.

However, I believe Mayweather will fight him at 154 in September. But that's not what Floyd told us, he said beating Cotto makes him #1 at 154. If he knew he was too small for the weight class, why is he still holding on to the belt?
