I say that because he should have been at 147 in the first place. Its was the same thing with Broner fighting at those lower weight classes just to have a size and power advantage over his opponents. This goes for Donaire and Canelo as well. Trout at least admitted to his faults. You don't see Sergio,Manny and Floyd pulling that weight crap. Ortiz was pulling that bs as well. Them doing that and not fighting at their natural weight classes is probably making them look a lot better then what they actually are. I mean Rios and Alvarado both came in the ring at almost 160 pounds I believe... They should easily be fighting at 147 but of course they want their advantages over the people who naturally fights at that weight class.

To make it plain and simple, a lot of fighters these days are fighting in weight classes they shouldn't be in and they are only doing it to have advantages over fighters who naturally fight there. Its their bodies they are sacrificing by trying to drop all that weight so I don't feel bad at all if they are suffering trying to make weight. Its not like how it used to be where you get weighed and fight on the same night.

So is he sick then? Ive heard rumors of that as well. Man, he looks terrible there. May get his ass kicked tomorrow. I had him pegged for a KO and was very confident, but man, he just looks not only dry but soft as well. Like he is undertrained to begin with and just starved himself to make weight. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!!!!!! But hey, its boxing. None of these guys can be 100% every time out. Floyd was sick against Cotto. Looked bad (for him) but still pulled it out. No excuses. Sucks balls, but it is what it is.

Ray, for the longest I've been saying these Jr WWs need to move up. I don't care about divisional standings if a fighter can't perform at their best, Rios may very well get killed against Pacquiao but I expect him to be a lot stronger at '47. Alexander looks stronger at '47 as well, they should all move up really.

At least Peterson has a realistic chance of getting the stoppage now. This adds to the drama and I still expect a barn-burner tomorrow.

This is all speculation. If Broner can make 135 easy, then why shouldn't he fight at 135? same for the others. That's how boxing works.

he only just arrived in the US yesterday, should have come over a week or two earlier.. that dude is going to be fighting jet-lagged.. he may well get knocked out because that is going to be detrimental to the body especially for this level of the sport

I hate to say this because its always **** people say about Broner but truth is he is younger than Matthysse and his body probably adjusts to the fluxuation in weight easier than Matthysse I know my body reacts differently to stuff now that im 29 compared to when i was 23

They are abusing the weighing system is what you are not understanding. If a fighter like Canelo for example walks around at 170+ and you take a fighter like Martinez who walks around at about 165+ then what does that tell you? Clearly Canelo is forcing himself to fight at 154 for a clearly obvious reason. Just because he can make the weight on the weigh in it doesn't mean they are not abusing the system. Its allowing fighters to campaign at a weight class that they shouldn't be in to give an size advantage over those who naturally fight at that same respected weight class. That is the issue here. If hes having trouble making weight then that's the price he should pay for abusing how the weigh in system is these days. Like I said, it should be same day weigh in like the old days to stop giving these guys advantages.

Its funny because Donaire wants to complain about him having trouble making weight for his fight with Rigo and trying to imply that it was a reason why he lost. He was clearly bigger then Rigo and so the obvious is obvious why he was fighting in that weight class when he should have been at 130 a good while ago.
