Probably because hes fighting in a weight class he shouldn't be in? Having trouble making weight most likely. People do this just to have a power and size edge over their opponents. I don't really like it but w/e its their bodies they are putting on the line.

What makes you say that? Anyway he's had terrible prep, more power to him if he can pull this out of the bag, a lot of other fighters would have pulled out already.
