When he took Cotto's belt he claimed he would defend it in the division and never has. His own words.

it was 151. It was 150. How is he going to get to 155? Its like you guys even think the weight is too far apart so you are trying to add weight. He's not going to be 155 and you know it so stop it. Also, 164 or not, he still came from lower weights. Its the same with Cotto. Its not like a guy who started at 154 and is super huge there. Its not the same

I talk about more than that. Thats why I always say its such & such in the ring and even more than that naturally. Thats the part everyone leaves out. Its not just the fight night weight but you also then have to factor in the natural weight. Floyd is 148 on the 30 day weigh-in.

He walks around at 150. Canelo walks around probably close to 190. If the weigh-in's were on Thursdays like HW's then Canelo would probably be over 180 in the ring while Floyd would still be the same. Its a big difference
Let's say Floyd weighed 155 on fight night and 172 for Canelo. That's 17 pounds. And I get what you saying about the natural weight but that doesn't matter. Hatton walked around at 190 pounds naturally. Look, Floyd is the best fighter I've ever seen live, not on tape. He's the best!!! If Canelo fought Cotto I wouldn't be shocked if Canelo lost. That's not knocking but that's just saying the kid is far from unbeatable. I don't see anyone beating Floyd but I see some guys giving him a good fight. That's all I want. I don't stream. I buy fights. I don't wanna pay to see him fight Alexander.

what do you mean he never has? He just fought last Saturday for the 1st time since Cotto........lmao

you make it sound like he's had 5 fights since Cotto. He even had a year off and went to jail in between

He defended his 147lb belt not his 154lb

Again, floyd at LW was 138 pounds. Floyd at SLW was 143. Floyd against Zab at WW was 146. Pac fought at 130 and came into the ring at 145 pounds

With all due respect to anyone who says he’s “ducking” or who says he “runs in fights”…thats absolutely ridiculous. This is sport, not a coliseum duel…Though it is a violent sport, the name of the game is still winning.

Fighters have styles, just like any other athletes in sports. When fighters try to fight in ways that aren’t in their best interest, for the purpose of pleasing fans, thats when they lose.

These are human beings and this is a brutal sport. The man that can participate in this sport, make a ton of money and leave with his mental and physical faculties is the winner.

Not the guy with slurred speech, pennies to his name and one who is holding on to nothing more than the respect from fans that say: “He fought in some wars, he was a real warrior.”

How many bills does that pay?

have you heard Roy Jones talk lately?
                Shane Mosley?
                Frazier?
                Ali?
How Pacquiao might be in the future after that Marquez KO. and all the damage he took from trying to please fans and not fighting smart?

people say: “the legends are who impacted the world and took the chances to fight everyone and risk it all for the fans. no matter weight advantages.”
“all the major champions took losses and that’s what makes them champions in the end.”

Risk it all for the fans for what? So somebody you never met in your life can regard you as great but you’re still a shell of yourself in front of children and wife?

hes done enough. he beat the best during his rise.

he has no business in the ring with middleweights.
especially if hes gonna do it "just to risk it all for the fans"

16 years, plenty of classics. go out on top.

if you're not amazed of how one guy can dominate an entire generation. NEVER LOSE. NEVER BE KNOCKED DOWN. GONE UP IN WEIGHT TIME AFTER TIME. NEVER DRAINED A FIGHTER. 50+% KO's, and making a name for himself as the greatest defensive fighter ever, and the least hit fighter ever with the highest connect precentage. then your bar is too high.

This, except that Floyd was knocked down by Hernandez (wide UD for Floyd though)

I'd like to see proof of that last statement.

I know and now we have to wait and see whats next. Either he fights a 154 pound guy or he should be stripped. I never argued against that

I didn't know that. I remember Mayweather boasting how he had never been down in his career before the Hatton fight.
