Even a novice heavyweight boxer would have a good shot against a top welterweight just because of the weight advantage. A decent MMA heavyweight should beat Floyd just because he'll be able to walk through all of Floyd's shots in order to land his own, he'll have no fear of anything coming back at him.

Because of that disregard for Floyd's punches, I can't see Floyd avoiding every single heavyweight power punch in that fight so he'd either get KOd, or be on full defensive mode where he is spending 99% of his time using defense and maybe throwing one or two punches each round - which means he'd lose a decision based on punch output.

Weight divisions exist for a reason.

Jones uses little to no boxing when he fights.

He wouldn't have a chance against Floyd. Mosley and DLH beat Shaq who is much bigger weight advantage then Jones would have, and Shaq had been training boxing for 13 years. Longer then Jon Jones.

I was going to go off about how dumb this guy is but then I read a lot of comments on several MMA forums (and indeed that articles comments) that said Jones would "work Floyd because he's bigger and a world class striker".

At this point I can only sit back and laugh while staring in awe at the utter level of ignorance and ******ity.

So anyone here want to argue that Jones would KO Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match?
When did he said he would beat Floyd in a boxing match. He said it would be a competitive fight. He didn't say he gonna go in boxing and do this and that..
Stop making this boxing vs mma when it isn't.He was asked a question and he answered and btw this thread was posted already and painfully debated alreaddy. They are both skilled in their own sport.

I like that he put up a highlight showing Jones doing everything BUT striking with his fists (other than that one shot he landed on Rashads washed up corpse). Give me a break.
