Comedy hour: UFC Jon Jones thinks he can beat Mayweather in boxing

    This guy is an idiot

I was going to go off about how dumb this guy is but then I read a lot of comments on several MMA forums (and indeed that articles comments) that said Jones would "work Floyd because he's bigger and a world class striker".

At this point I can only sit back and laugh while staring in awe at the utter level of ignorance and ******ity.

So anyone here want to argue that Jones would KO Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match?

he's an mma fighter as if he'd land a thing and all the crappy swinging punches he'd throw, chin hurtling towards floyd, wouldn't surprise me if he got ko'd despite the size difference

This guy is a fool. MMA fans agreeing are idiots. World class striking in MMA is one thing, world class in boxing is another.

Let's see if he can get through James Toney first at the proper weight class, I mean afterall Toney now is just an obese Light Heavyweight.

That's the point. Jon Jones would beat Floyd because he's so goddamn big. Now if Jon Jones went to boxing right now, since he's only 24, he could build an outstanding career. The guy's a weird kind of athlete you only see once in a generation. Similar to a Roy Jones Jr. Unbelievably fast and ridiculously strong. His two brothers are both in the NFL. Dude is freaky athletic.

He just isn't a boxer. If he stepped in a boxing ring with a top HW right now, he'd get mauled.

                  1) He is a heavyweight, it would be pretty shameful if you couldn't 'hang with Mayweather'.

                  2) His suggestion that boxing isn't useful in a street fight is absurd, obviously mma will be more useful as it can encompass boxing in addition to to grappling and other forms of striking an opponent. That being said an most bar fights don't get down to the ground, and involve people who are physically unfit. From my experiences its only the people who aren't trained to fight who refuse the opportunity of settling a dispute without violence.

It's also ****** to say ''In a bar fight you can't say no take downs'', then overlook the fact that what he is doing wouldn't account for another individual kicking him as he goes for the take down, get stabbed, glassed, bit etc.

I am pretty sure Jon Jones beats Floyd in a boxing match. Reason: he is a 205 pound fighter who usually comes into the UFC octagon at around 220 or 225 pounds from what I know. So....we have a heavyweight fighting a welterweight here.
