On the other thread there's a video in which Jeff says why 154 is no go for now.

It seems possible that Floyd is not really trying to avoid a fight at 154, but he's thinking ahead. If he beats Canelo at 154, he'll come down again because there's nothing else after Canelo, especially 154.

So its a jump up and down again that Floyd doesn't want to risk. He can't afford to come in at 149 because Canelo will have size over him.

Which is why the claim makes no sense. It's literally only Reynoso saying this. No press, no witnesses, no paperwork, nothing. If you wanna believe Team Canelo, go ahead. But it's never been Floyd's MO to force bigger guys down. It's just downright laughable that the Reynosos have been lying nonstop about something as serious as Canelo bare knuckle sucker punching and hospitalizing Solis....but oh no, they would -never- make up something like Floyd demanding a 154 lb Ginger come down to 147, that would be totally evil of them. SMH.

Why would he lie about that though? Either it's a misunderstanding or this is something Floyd really brought up during negotiations. But you're right that we should wait for more legit sources.

GBP nor Mayweather Promotions has issued a statement regarding negotiations. The only fact we know at this moment is that negotiations are taking place.

Leaking information about negotiations through the media is unprofessional.

The pressure will be definitely on Floyd to fight Canelo at 154. It was a good move by Canelo's team to come out and say this because they know it was not right move by Floyd and it will definitely pressure Floyd's camp to have a change of heart .....

If canelo wants this fight he has to come down to 147 or no fight. Canelos too big, skills win fights not size but floyd don't take demands from no one. Canelo is comfortable fighting at 147, he did earlier in his career. If red don't come down to ww its a clear duck by him.

When it comes to Floyd, there are times to run with it, and then there are times to just be a fan when it comes to unsubstantiated claims like this. Super fight negotiations are rarely leaked out. You always know who the true boxing fans are and who the Homers are. It always comes out!
