As far as I'm aware he's already set to fight on September 14th.
He's stated numerous times before and after the Guererro fight that he will be fighting on that date.
he could be in the ring fighting on sept14 and ppl will still believe hes not gonna fight. he could be in the ring with canelo on that date and ppl will still think he wont fight the guy, either than or canelo will suddenly become too green or something else. just the way ppl work around here. nevermind the fact that a 36yo boxer is considered by almost everyone the best fighter in the world, which in itself is amazing, but ppl just enjoy having something to complain about when it comes to him. they want him to fail, but at this point its already too late.

This is very reminiscent of the time period before the Mosley fight was signed, to me.
Everyone believed Mayweather was ducking and afraid of him, no one believed the fight would get made. Even when It was made, you still had people believing the fight wouldn't happen. You had all of these people saying "If he fights Mosley, I'll give him all the credit in the world".
We know what happened after that fight.
I'm expecting this fight to go down the same route.
This is a ridiculous mismatch, but it will surely sell. Canelo can show up as a cruiserweight if he wants, but it won't make one bit of difference. He is not landing on Floyd. Canelo fans insanely overrate this guys skills. I think Canelo himself really thinks he's the next ODLH, but he's not even close. Oscar had the right blend of skill, speed and size to take down Mayweather (he certainly would have if they fought a few years earlier), but Canelo is a completely different fighter. He has **** stamina, is crazy slow-footed and has average skills at best. This is a walk in the park for Floyd.
Size is one thing, skill is another and having both is a problem for anyone smaller.
I think Canelo has good skills and different from most of the guys Mayweather has fought, most guys approach Floyd by trying to break his defense down which has not been a fruitful endeavor. Canelo has a little bit of slickness to him and he could possibly make it hard for Floyd to land. I would say making Floyd's offense less effective is a much better way to approach beating Floyd than going into the teeth of his defense which helps him create even more offense.
Now I do question if Canelo can win this because he would essentially have to beat Floyd at his game but I would like to see how Floyd would deal with those issues.
I didnt see any skills in Canelo that I thought would trouble Mayweather. All I saw was a big JMW with no stamina and not putting punches together. Especially when he had his guy hurt. Canelo wasn't the aggressor vs Trout and he wasn't able to trap the guy either.
I can't see in ANY way Canelo beating Mayweather. I don't even think he would drop Mayweather even if he landed flush on him tbh.
I have brought every Mayweather ppv since he fought Baldomir, if he fights Alexander, I will not buy it. I won't. Khan?? Yeah probably just cuz I know something funny or interesting would happen.

It will be seen.
Canelo is not a flawless fighter but how Floyd fights will work well for what he does well plus with his size advantage his punches will look much more fierce. So if he can make Floyd miss a bit do at least better than average on really connected blows and get credit for some blows where he was moving Floyd around with blocked/partially blocked shots he could make it work from there and pick up a W.
Floyd does best when he faces high output guys who think they can break down Floyd defense, Canelo is a thoughtful offensive fighter with some defense. You don't have to like his chances and there are certainly reasons not to because he will have to beat Floyd at his game (kind of), but the fact remains that is Canelo's game also.
