Y'all putting too much emphasis on this kid's size. If Canelo was as skilled as Mayweather then I can understand but that's not the case. Mayweather will easily pot shot Canelo especially in the late rounds where his stamina sucks.

Size is a big thing in boxing. And the skill is why i dont think hes ready but im ok with it if it happens. I was hoping for next May against floyd or martinez. Fight muchbigger

Size is one thing, skill is another and having both is a problem for anyone smaller.

I think Canelo has good skills and different from most of the guys Mayweather has fought, most guys approach Floyd by trying to break his defense down which has not been a fruitful endeavor. Canelo has a little bit of slickness to him and he could possibly make it hard for Floyd to land. I would say making Floyd's offense less effective is a much better way to approach beating Floyd than going into the teeth of his defense which helps him create even more offense.

Now I do question if Canelo can win this because he would essentially have to beat Floyd at his game but I would like to see how Floyd would deal with those issues.

They're still counting the numbers. It's like Florida elections.

i don't know about breaking 2.5 mill ppv buys but it could come to 2 mill if promoted right.

mayweather didn't do a press tour for his last fight. im pretty sure they will do one if floyd/canelo happens.

It's true, look it up. It fell through because Wright wanted 50-50 and Mayweather wouldn't budge. Arum was negotiating on behalf of Floyd.

Has Canelo ever headlined a PPV?

Why no clamouring for Canelo v. Chavez Jr? Makes way more sense. This is a great time to start the rivalry. Chavez can move up after the fight and still be viable at 168 or 175 and Canelo can fight guys like GGG or Lara etc and not lose any credibility. Just makes better sense than having him get embarrassed by Floyd.
