      Check, go back and read my comments in breaking down these numbers... hell you added 8 mill for floyds upside which he may not even be entitled too if the fight didnt reach a certain agreed upon number.

          If they did indeed hit a million or even over 900k that's good imo, given HBO's advantages in the staging of PPV's. 900k or a mil on Sho is probably the equivalent of 1.2 or more on HBO.

            1,000,000 x $69.95 = $70 mil
            gate = $10 mil

            this excludes any foreign rights, but let's say $80m total.

            Floyd at $32 mil and Guerrero @ $3m. Say Floyd has another $8 mil upside from the PPV, and Robert $2mil. Add another $5m for the other fighters on the card. That's $50m.

            So showtime can't extract a few mill for themselves from the $30m leftover after promoters take their cut, site fee and advertising????

            If they lost money it's their own fault because they must have given Floyd a SILLY SILLY deal that means he's keeping another $20m on top of the $32 he got on Monday after the match.
            You forgot that distributors generally take 50%. The gate doesn't go to the tv network either, goes to the promoter. Though in this case close enough

              If this fight was a financial success look for Mayweather to avoid the Canelo fight. Why would he risk fighting the much larger man when he can make a guaranteed 32 mil fighting the alexanders, garcias, khans, and malignaggis of the world?

                  If Mayweather-Guerrero was a PPV success, then where is the estimated results??? Both the network and promoter always publicize an estimate less than a week after the fight, especially when it's considered a "success".

                  What's with all this sugarcoating???? The powers that be prefer to say "financial success", instead of "PPV success". Meaning the PPV underperformed.

                    That is NOT how it's split at all. TV distributors and advertising costs get taken off the top of the PPV revenue. Other fighters on the card don't get a piece of the PPV.

                      The fact that Espinoza seems very eager to make the Floyd/Canelo fight happen for Sept is a telling sign that this past ppv didnt produce the numbers he had hoped for and hopes to bounce back with a big event between Floyd and Canelo.

                      Espinoza: "So preliminary talks have started. There haven't been any big issues, and I'm cautiously optimistic we're going to do everything we can to make that fight happen."
