Well prepare to be retired Cotto lol. Why on earth would a fighter winding toward the end of his career, go to a trainer who doesn't teach any defense? Especially a fighter like Cotto who has had some beatings and whose face comes apart almost every fight. Godspeed Cotto but this won't do any good. What is this, Cotto's 5th trainer in like 7-8 years? Respect to Cotto but I don't see him beating any of the main players at 154.

Mayweather definitely wont fight Canelo unless he ses him look bad against cotto. He wants cotto to fight him first so he can gauge his own safety obviously.

Roach and Cotto would be a perfect fit. Cotto's style would be perfect for someone like Roach great left hand and offensive. Since Cotto will be one of main fighters, he'll obviously spend more time with him. Add Ariza and his workouts to the mix, I think Cotto will improve.

He got the best out of Khan, and Pacquiao actually improved from when they first got together (not his fault Pacquiao got overaggressive and got KTFO, he did well before the KO), though now Pacquiao is more traditional and not as funky than when he first got with Roach.

Man, I guess I'm the only one who thinks this is a great fit. Cotto use to be a body snatcher, I could see him doing the same thing Pacquiao is doing on the mitts, ducking shots, and finishing with that mean left hook to the body.

            There's a difference...

I really think this is a bad look for Cotto..If only Cotto were disciplined, there's so many fights at 147lb for him..At 154lb,Roach does not make a difference..

At 147lb Cotto has a shot at anyone not named Mayweather..With or without Roach..

With few exceptions that pretty much sums up Floyd's style of approach when selecting opponents...

"He needed some fights to hone his skills" you say. So from fighting the best at WW to jumping up and fighting hasbeens and neverbeens helped him hone his skills?

And yes I'm aware Cotto already beat Mosley. The point is they were both tough warriors who fought the best. Also the fight was close and with them both being washed up, if they refuse to retire the only fight I would want to see from them is a rematch.

you mean the same foreman that pac said he wouldn't fightis that the one your talking about.... pac said "oh hes too big for me" ill sit back and fight Clottey. Cotto has fought some of this eras stiffest comp.... he has been in there with mosley, pacman, floyd, judah, margarito with had wraps and without hand wraps.. give the dude credit where its due..

I did give him credit. At WW he was one of the best and fought the best. I never said otherwise. What I said was after those losses at WW, he moved up and fought tomato cans. Everything he did after he left WW was garbage, with the exclusion of the Trout and Floyd fight.

Everyone loves him for the fighter he was not the fighter he is. At WW he can still brawl with the best, but he won't. He only fights bums now. (And I never agreed to PACs potential fight with Foreman. That was garbage as well.)

But you can't honestly tell me you agree with Cotto's move to JMW to fight nobody Foreman, washed up Mayorga, and just beat up by PAC Margacheato?

From fighting the best of the best to those fights, c'mon, get real. Plus no one expected Trout to beat him which is the only reason he fought him. Just fight the best again or make good fights is all I'm saying. Stop fighting tomato cans and being a poor sport not participating in post fight interviews.
