here is something i found at espn deportes, used google translator
"We hope to be Canelo Floyd is fighting whom," said Richard Schaeffer, direct from Golden Boy Promotions, during the press conference, later noted. "Against Mayweather or not, Canelo fight on September 14th at the MGM", as Oscar de la Hoya has already reserved the date and place.

If so, it is expected to be Cotto's opponent for Canelo September 14, and learned that Cotto would have sought to work with Freddie Roach in his corner, but there are other guys like Erislandy Lara and Alfredo Angulo himself with Saul could star in an evening.

My prediction - Floyd and Canelo to share a PPV first, then fight each other. Thats even IF it happens - Canelo will probably jack his asking price up as all this fight plus the cold war has done is increased his leverage tenfold - make that twenty fold.

Bar Pac, Marquez and Canelo, not sure Showtime have any other options that run at a profit with the absurd $32 million guarantee im afraid.

      Just terrible business.
That ain't gonna happen broskie. Canelo already told Floyd where he could go with that "ride ******* on my PPV" thing. It's just like I said it would be....Canelo fights and beats Trout, if either Mayweather loses to Guerrero or the fight doesn't sell well or whatever, Canelo is going to be that much harder to negotiate with.

Price will go through the roof and he will start to demand things that Floyd will never agree too. That fight ain't happening at all....just like the Pac fight unless it's the last fight of Floyd's career.

now this is laughable, top rank been piggybacking off FMW name when it came to welters since he left which also gave the impression he was ducking cotto

I dont know who expected more. I cant believe the expectation was more than a million. Guerrero brought nothing to the table. I didn't even hear many cheers for him during his ring entrance. I'm a Floyd fan and it was a smart move on his part. But it wasnt a smart decision by Showtime. Floyd doesn't add Showtime subscribers because all of his fights are PPV. You dont need Showtime to watch ppv. unless you factor in that they have all Golden boy fights now. Thats a huge deal if that was the original plan.

Don't know if this has been stated but 900K is indeed bad by Floyd standards. That is a bout 1/3 less than what Floyd would typically do. It's also substantially less than what Pacquiao did on Showtime against Mosley.

Considering the fight wasn't the most fan friendly, it doesn't look good for Floyd's September card unless he fights someone noteworthy.

As a fan, we should be happy. It may put pressure on Floyd to fight a more viable opponent.

Why is it every Floyd PPV, haters like hectari and Weebler II are quick to jump in a thread and substantiate rumors about low PPV sales? It's sad because once the numbers are officially released, you two will be the first to give credit to guys like Mares for the numbers instead of where the credit belonged in the 1st place.

Seriously this **** happens every Floyd PPV, so when is it going to end?

900k is one third of what Floyd what typically do? Do you comprehend math? He averages slightly over 1M, more than Pacquiao or anyone. The record is 2.5M, which Floyd and Oscar did. 900k multiplied by 3 would be 2.7M, which would be a PPV record, shattering the previous mark shared by Floyd and Oscar. That is what he averages? 90% of this thread are people like this and pro Mexican fans that were touting Guerrero as a true warrior who was due to beat Floyd. Now he is a "nobody" that "never had a chance". So who does have a chance other than Canelo? Please name guys. Martinez cannot even walk, he would get destroyed. The haters can continue to hate. Guys like Rafael and Iole are always hating, remember their Donaire-Rigondeaux analysis? Who gives a **** what they think. How about you bored housewives enjoy top level boxing because soon Floyd will be gone, instead of *****ing about a boxer's ethnic background and PPV sales. The people that make money off the PPV's spend less time thinking and talking about it than all of you. That says a lot.

Floyd needs to fight canelo, that fight could do $1.2-1.5 mil buys.

It would do between 1.5-2.0 in my opinion
