  • What a whining b*tch. Yeah, there are always new fighters, that's kind of the point of boxing. One goes down, another comes up.

Happens with every fighter. Ward wins the Super Six, doesn't matter because of Bute. Bute loses, people talk about the Dirrells. People like to see fighters fight challenges, I know that's a horrible concept to Mayweather but we like to see it anyway.

    • remember when floyd said "if i beat guerrero, they will create more foes." so he didn't fight him...oh wait no he didn't say that cause guerrero sucks.

It is one of the most coveted boxing dates and it would also set the stage perfectly for such a fight.

At the post fight press conference Mayweather said he would sit down with his team and decide his next move when he was asked about the possibility of fighting Alvarez next. At the moment there doesn't appear to be a bigger name or draw that Mayweather could fight but Alvarez also resides 7 pounds north of where Mayweather is currently campaigning at. Floyd has made two ventures into the 154 pound division against Oscar De La Hoya and most recently Miguel Cotto. [Click Here To Read More]
dont tell me this is going to be another of those "if i fight pac they will just creat another opponent!"
thats why he never took the pac fight and just fought ortiz instead

Floyd doesn't have any big options left outside of Alvarez
whoever comes out on top of the JWW title picture is there
then it's over, these last 5 fights are gonna be lackluster
there's 0 demand for Floyd to fight anybody but Alvarez
and even that demand isn't big, it's an easy win for Floyd
there's nobody Floyd could logically be mandated to fight
          1 - Canelo
          2 - Broner
          3 - Pacquiao
          4 - Trout
          5 - Bradley
          6 - Matthyse
          7 - Garcia
          8 - Peterson
          9- Khan
          10 - Alexander

There are plenty of good fights for him. If he fights 2 of top 5 and 3 of bottom 5 that would be great. unfortunately, we'll be lucky to get 1 of top 5, and will probably get fights vs guys not on the list like Ortiz and Berto

          • This does sound like something Mayweather would say because he doesn't want to fight someone. I hope that's not the case, he can't play dumb towards his own role in setting up expectations for an Alvarez fight.

            • Valentino - we did get robbed from seeing floyd vs Pac bc floyd always had an excuse, steroid tests, money split, vacation, etc.
and, yeah, he would have demolished Margarito, but for some reason, he deemed Margarito a risk, and instead took the fight with Baldomir instead.

Valentino, no one (well, ,ost) aren't questioning Floyd's skills or dominance. I question his desire to prove the greatness against the best competition. He is more businessman than great Boxer - Fine. But, he actually has the balls to say he's the greatest bc fighters like Ali and SRR and SRL had losses on their record - bc they challeneged themselves to things Floyd would never do.
If SRL fought in this generation no doubt he wouldve fought Pacquiao, Martinez and Canelo - bc that's what Leonard did vs Hagler, Hearns, Benetiez and Duran. He challenged himself vs the absolute best competition he could

Alvarez is a big money fight. A good businessman will take that fight at the drop of a hat.

Floyd is a big money fight for anybody...Let Canelo earn a shot based on his boxing resume and not his popularity. Hell let him and Pacquiao fight ..lol

                  • Lol there it is. He said the same with pac. He is never going to fight canelo. Wtf is floyd talking about? Everyone wants to see you fight canelo because nobody wants to watch a sparring match with overmatched opponents.

                    • Canelo is ****... Trout actually did a lot better in their fight than what most is trying to give credit to him for. Mayweather absolutely did a masterclass performance on Guerrero.. I didn't give Guerrero any round because barely any punch landed and if they did Mayweather had the crisper harder shots that did damage. Also for anyone saying Rigondeaux is better.. etc. Mayweather showed that his versatility and smarts will always win.

Anyway once he beats Canelo... who else is there for him? I already says he beats Canelo easily and I'll bet anyone their life he does it easily with a wide UD or possible a KO since Canelo stamina is sluggish like constipated intestines.
