There's numerous examples of fighters who equally bad or even worse defense than Khan but can still take a punch. Having a bad defense doesn't go hand in hand with having bad punch resistance; Khan just happens to be lacking in both areas. There's really no sense in denying that at this point.



I feel bad for Khan because, for all his athletic gifts, he really is an unrefined mess of a boxer and lacks any sort of decent dig. A guy like Terry Norris was noted for having a crap chin, but he was a genuinely polished fighter with a great offense and a dig to match. Khan just doesn't have anything beyond hand and foot speed, unfortunately.

Khan's chin is not the problem. The problem is gravity. Every time he gets hit, gravity pulls him down. Often the gravity is so bad he can't get back up.
