  • Sergio needs to retire

His body is failing him big time. Shoulder, knees, hands etc

His reflexes have diminished. Being honest I felt he looked soft, compared to normal.

He looked one-dimensional, the speed wasn't there, his jab was not what it was - that was one hell of a weapon. His punch resistance is very questionable IMO 5 of his last 8 have decked him & I'm sorry but Macklin & Murray are not punchers.

Rule them slips or whatever, his punch resistance is on the fade.

I say all this as a fan as hes going to lose to some absolute bum before hes finished. Any other country & he may not of got the nod.

Credit to Murray, he came with a great gameplan, 'he good boy' but for me is the weakest of the trio - Murray, Barker, Macklin, I think both the others beat him soundly I really do.

I don't want to see Sergio fight again after tonight, I had him destroying GGG, Quillin etc before now I think GGG in particular literally ends his life.

Sorry fellow Martinez fans but hes shot to ****. He had a lucky escape tonight.

    Sergio Martinez is a bum.

Murray was robbed. Look at the punch stats.

Robbed of the 2nd knock down.

    Bum!!

He'd still wreck that ginger clown in your avatar mind. The trouble he had with Trout My god Sergio would have a field day with that boy.

''Murray was robbed. Look at the punch stats.''

Punch stats don't mean an awful lot, most of Murrays work came in like rounds 7-10. Look at the punchstats from Trout & Canelo, must mean Trout was robbed!

Sadly I think he is done.

The injuries obviously didn't help or the weather/wet ring but I think its fair to say he has certainly lost a step.

There didn't seem like much snap on his shots tonight either. He looked heavily faded to me.

He should hang them up but he probably won't.

A catchweight and a 50-50 split with Cotto and then he should retire. I agree that the knee injury has pretty much finished him off and that he'd best avoid fighting the likes of Alvarez, Golovkin and even a rematch with junior.

Too small of a sample size to judge just yet IMO. First fight coming off a major surgery and a wet ring, but if he looks the same in his next fight then I might have to agree with you. Nobody escapes father time...BHOP and JMM are next.

He better retire before GGG or Canelo knock his ass out.
