About a month ago Canelo made an appearance on the boxing show A Los Golpes on ESPN Deportes and he said he was going to fight on Mexican independence weekend and that Golden Boy promised him the date. He said GB told him that they were tired of Mayweather not being direct with them on whether he was actually planning on fighting on that date or something like that.
