Canelo is a doing it right business wise here, Cotto has only 3 fights left and we dont know how much he has in the tank left after Trout, Canelo is trying to secure that big money fight while it's still valuable and available, Mexico-PR on mexican independence day will be HUGE. This is a good match considering Scaredweather ain't gonna fight the ginger anyway.

Remember after the Ortiz fight he was saying he wanted to come back in February of 2012 and fight twice before his jail stint and then again at the end of the year? Then he said he was going to fight again after the Cotto fight, gets out and is not heard from until the Guerrero announcement.
If your Golden Boy you make your move now. Sell out Cowboy stadium and give Cotto one more payday and take care of your cash cow for the next 10-12 years.
do u remember when he had a case against him and he had to settle that before he could fight? or remember the fact that if it wasnt for the judge, he would have been in jail a lot sooner? seriously dude, either pay attention to what was going on or shut up. floyd fought at the earliest possible date after the ortiz fight, but apparently even that is criticized.

funny thing is how ppl were demanding the floyd fight, but now that his team and gbp has seemed to back off cotto becomes a great fight. lol. i dont get this site. where a young prime fighter gets to fight whoever he wants, even if they have 2 losses in a row and supposedly its a great fight.

Back when Trout wanted to fight Canelo, they were downplaying his win against Cotto saying he was washed up, old, past prime. Now that Canelo wants to fight him it's a great fight, it'll be a war, blah blah blah. Don't get me wrong, it'll make money but we already know Cotto is gonna get KO'd. Badly.

It's a bad fight boxing wise, it would probably just be a passing of the torch (Never rule out the upset though). Business wise it makes sense and builds for a huge showdown and creates a ppv profile for Canelo.

For me though, the same way I don't give a **** about Floyd's pockets I don't care for Canelo's. He should fight the Lara/Angulo winner or Ishe Smith and totally unify. That's why boxing is a business first, sucks for people who love boxing and don't just **** ride a fighter or nationality.

I don't have a problem with this fight if Canelo does decide to fight three times this year...It's a decent tune up.

If he doesn't fight again then smh.

Canelo team already had said that they wanted to face Cotto in Sept., I rather see him against the winner of Lara/Angulo but this is not a bad fight.

                  Rather Cotto than Vanes
