      • Marquez is bitter than Alvarez is in his early 20's and has reached rock star status in Mexico.

JMM on the other hand is only popular due to his name being associated with Manny Pacquiao. It's his own fault as he should have taken the Morales, Hamed, Barrera (actually fight happened way too late) and other fights when he had a chance vs pricing himself out and fighting bums.

        • Trout is the real deal. I can't name anyone at 154 that I would favor over him.

He easily beats Lara, Angulo etc.

4-20 we saw the #1 vs #2 fighters in that division square off, yet clowns like JMM still want to complain.

          • Funny - I just went through the last 12 pages and those people who are against what Marquez said can't come up with any better refuting argument other then 'he mad, he jelly, he old'. I have yet to see an objective argument on why Marquez is wrong.

Also, I think open scoring is bogus.

Marquez isn't wrong. Trout got a lot of hype for beating Cotto, who isn't a great 154 lber. That's really all he had. Canelo had a lot of hype for beating....okay for being Canelo. Neither looked exactly impressive, and it was a really close fight. Canelo looked very unconditioned. I consider it a good win, but he's nowhere near elite at this point. Didn't look like a p4p fighter, but did look like a good 154 lber fighter.

I'd love for someone to tell me how his performance against trout, who he was predicted to beat, makes him "elite". I think people are confusing elite and good.

Yah like you could do any better, bet your ads never step in a boxing ring, to hate the boy is only 22 years old and already out performing most at this point in his career.

I don't think Canelo looked unconditioned or out of shape or even breathing hard, but I do think that Canelo knew he could go into 'coast' mode once he knew what the scores were in the 10th(?) round because of open scoring.

I just think open scoring will allow a fighter to fight 7/12 or 6/10 rounds rather then the full 12 or 10.

Yes because I claimed to be a great boxer right? Also who said I hate Canelo, did you even read the post? I said he wasn't an Elite fighter.... plain and simple. You replied attacking me, and gave not a single reason he should be considered elite in your post, like I said for someone to do.

Beating a guy who's claim to fame is only beating Cotto, who you were supposed to beat (I said Canelo would win as did most journalists) and not looking impressive doing it, as your signature win.... doesn't make you an elite fighter.... it's that simple. If you feel like replying again, at least talking boxing... it's not hard.
