Aside from Trout admitting he lost to the better man, tweeting that he tried his best and still lost, and even putting his head down after the 12th round while Canelo was celebrating, what more do you need?

Canelo won, Trout won like 3 rounds and those were because Canelo was resting.

I don't think one can seriously state that Canelo won rounds by ring generalship.
Why not? Have you seen Canelo fight? He doesn't want to throw a lot of punches. He's always had a low work rate. Canelo was able to sit back, dodge a few jabs and stun Trout any time he felt like it. I see that as ring generalship. You think throwing 40 jabs a round and landing 8 of them is ring generalship? This isn't the amateur. Throwing a bunch of meaningless punches isn't enough to win a fight.

Not at all. The rounds that Trout won (3, or 4 rounds if generous) were rounds where Canelo took his foot off the gas. It's okay though, Trout can bounce back eventually.

He took his loss like a man, admitted defeat and now he's ready to move on. Some fans of his can't seem to do the same though.

                  1 KD = 8 rounds for Alvarez.

Stop talking crap, round 3 onwards Alvarez only fought in spurts and Trout was the one setting the pace and throwing.

Landing jabs in itself has nothing to do with ring generalship, nor does defense. A jab is a punch, if you can jab like Holmes you can definitely win rounds behind your jab. It though wasn't the case tonight, Trout used his jab to control distance, but it wasn't a good, stinging jab (which would have helped Trout to a great extent in my opinion).

Ring generalship is not about how many punches you throw or you don't throw, but about whose fight you are fighting. Trout was controlling pace and distance for most of the fight.

As for stunning Trout anytime he felt like it, it simply wasn't the case. It's not like Canelo 'carried' Trout for 12 rounds just to punish him. It was a close fight, as predicted.

I strongly disagree with the 118-109 scorecard, while I can see an argument being made for a 115-112 kind of decision in Canelo's favour.
