Donaire came to fight. Gets outlanded. Leaves all busted up.

Love Donaire as much as the next guy but jesus man lol. Let it go.

And Donaire dont do this! ...Let it go. Pulling a Juanma Lopez
    lmao!

And, oh, yeah..."Rigo ran." Guillermo stood in the pocket for the first few rounds before he started moving a little. "El Chacal" and Donaire threw shots at each other and Rigo always got the better of the exchange.

That's what was the most telling thing for me.

That, and he took Donaire's left hook flush and didn't even blink.

The two most important things I took from the fight.

I knew Riongdeaux was capable of everything else. As I'm sure you did

        • Boxing use to be called the "sweet science" now its become unless you fight toe to toe on some caveman ish you aint boxing smfh Pernell would have 40 losses according to Nonito wack ass logic. The Cuban put on a "boxing for dummies" DVD clinic on that ass! Like Nard told Pavlik "work on your slickness"

I've gotta tell ya, Dan (Harold Lederman voice), I was cringing during those early exchanges. I was like, "Oh, God, Rigo, what are you doing?" But Guillermo not only assuaged my fears, he bred confidence. Every time Donaire caught him with something, Rigo fired right back with something better. It was amazing to watch live.

When Guillermo took a seat in the tenth, one of my boys said, "Oh, oh, he's hurt." It only took me a second or two to put him at ease, "No, he's not." Watching the replay at home with my brother, he pointed out something I hadn't seen earlier: Nonito had his back turned when Rigo stood up from the knockdown, like he expected Guillermo to be done.

After years of catching the occasional glimpse of "El Chacal," knowing he was a great talent, and having some initial concerns about his professional future, I'm elated to see him rise to the heights I always envisioned for him. Guillermo Rigondeaux truly is a special talent.

He got the better of the exchanges it's something I completely didn't expect and it was amazing to see.

I was more impressed with his chin though. Despite getting outlanded every round Donaire did land some solid shots. Some hard, flush left hooks to the chin and Rigondeaux wasn't even buzzed. That answered all questions for me, I expected him to go down hard on one of those. I knew Donaire would land, and he did, but I just thought that he wouldn't be able to take them.

It answered so many questions and now, he's going to be incredibly hard to beat.

Guillermo Rigondeaux (12-0, 8KOs) unified the WBA/WBO super bantamweight titles with scores of 114-113, 115-112 and 116-111. Donaire felt he should have won a close decision or at the very least the fight should have been scored a draw.

The 'Filipino Flash" will now get surgery to repair some tendon damage in his right shoulder, and he plans to stay away from boxing for a few months in order to spend time with his wife and their newborn son.
                  Wow.

Donaire has really bought into his own hype.

He was thoroughly schooled in the ring and he believes that he could have gotten a draw?

IMO Donaire only clearly won the 10th.

One could be inclined to give him the 7th if they were generous.

But honestly, Donaire could only be given 2-3 rounds at the most before one would be labeled biased.

You don't have to dominate a round to win it, and Rigo won 10 out of 12 rounds.

                  • Guillermo Rigondeaux won the fight the first time he landed that left hand, he hurt Nonito and that make hi cautious, he stood in there daring Nonito to close the gap and donaire was reluctant to do it, the first round dictated the rest of the fifght and we didn't have fire works because Donaire's reluctancy...

Let's see: speed, check; power, check; skills, check; reflexes, check; chin, check. Yep, Rigo's gonna be tough to beat. lol
