    I agree, I scored it 117-110 personally.

i picked donaire to beat rigondeaux via knockout after eight boring rounds.
it was hotly contested by people who dont know anything about boxing...... seriously, this was not a 50/50 fight at all.

you're right. donaire was the favorite.

        hindsight is 20/20, kid.

no hindsight...the rigo fans were calling this fight as domination from day 1 dude... including me. Even when it was just a hypothetical fight. Any knowledable boxing fan knew for a fact that Donaire would get outclassed and outboxed ..and Donaires only chance at a victory was if he got lucky enough for Rigo to make a mistake...and even then it was iffy.

the odd's on this fight were not a reflection of this fight....i compared it to Amir Khan/Lamont Peterson, where thye had Khan favored 7 to 1....though a much closer bout, knowledgable boxing fans knew the odds were skewed heavily.

I knew Rigo would win - I even expected him to KO Donaire. I said this in another thread before the fight.

how is his chin still suspect?? He took a flush shot from Nonito Donaire... and got right back up and continued to dominated 100%....

but if you vastly underestimated his defensive abilities im guessing you either a.) didnt watch any of Rigo's fights, or b.) you did, but had no idea what you were watching.
Idk how anyone can say Rigo's chin is suspect anymore. Even before the KD he took some flush shots to the chin and the top of the head and not once was he hurt. Even when he got KDed he pulled a Gamboa and got up and went to work. Brought himself back into the round that could've been scored a draw.

Long ago I said Rigo would dominate Donaire. Then I switched my stance to 50/50 then as the fight got closer and I saw Donaire making excuses to pull out of the fight I knew he didn't wanna do it and that Rigo had the mental edge over him. That's when I knew Rigo had the fight in the bag.

"rigo fans" have been calling him the greatest of all time since he fought rico ramos.

they're comparing him to floyd mayweather after one fight. somebody made a thread about him being "the best/most skilled boxer of all time."

these are the "knowledgable" fans you speak of, hmm?

The fact almost everyone claimed a KO by Donaire, and for 12 rounds the closest that came to was by Rigondeaux.
Though I have said it and criticized Donaire was picture perfect for Rigondeaux. Too stationary and not tactically a great boxer. His inability to do what everyone claimed he would do didn't happen. Not once in 12 round but for maybe the first 30 seconds did he come close to dictating the fight.

Now excuses start flying... Being out of shape for the biggest fight of your career.... A three year long injury... My wife being Pregnant.... Even fans who have never been in the ring claim he need a new trainer (possibly themselves)... LMFAO.

Rigo showed excellent talent early, and the people who noticed chose Rigondeaux to win. People who wanted to believe Donaire style would be able to contradict 400+ amateur fight and who knows how long of real experience (showing pics of Rigondeaux at six winning medals), are delusional!
