the fact that most people on here thought Rigo was going to get KTFO

Shows that everyone here badly underestimated his skills, and showed their lack of actual boxing knowledge and ignorance of the cuban program. Any guy who had 400 fights in cuba and 2 olympic golds is going to know how to box inside and out, it just made me laugh at the morons who thought he was going to get completely demolished

True talk man.... i posted a bunch of threads on Rigo, and Cuban boxing and the responses where so ridiculous.

Seriously, im confident in saying that anyone who thoguht Donaire would dominate or KO Rigondeaux , or this was even a 50/50 fight, lacks basic knowledge in boxing.

and i like how you refer to his amateur fighting record. I posted a lengthy thread on Ameatur skill and how it DOES translate to the pros, and should be taken into account.... seriously , to win in the olympics the basic philosophy is hit and not get hit...you can win the EXACT SAME WAY in the pros. (-_-)

Thought that Donaire's only chance was a shot that slipped through the cracks catching Rigo off-guard but that Rigo was going to outbox Donaire as long as the fight lasted. I also felt there was a strong possibility that Rigo would get ripped off on the cards too, which nearly happened in spite of the masterclass he put on.

Tremendous fight for Rigo and I don't think there is anyone who can beat this guy, he is too complete.

        Ah the benefit of hindsight.....

Jeez, surely this could have been posted in the master thread?

His chin is still suspect, I wouldn't be surprised if someone catches him at some point and puts him down for the count.
most NSB posters including myself vastly underestimated his defensive abilities which now it is clear rank amongst the best in the sport.

how is his chin still suspect?? He took a flush shot from Nonito Donaire... and got right back up and continued to dominated 100%....

but if you vastly underestimated his defensive abilities im guessing you either a.) didnt watch any of Rigo's fights, or b.) you did, but had no idea what you were watching.

being wrong about a fight that was considered hotly contested on paper doesn't mean you don't know anything about boxing. there's a reason that they fight the fights.

i picked donaire to beat rigondeaux via knockout after eight boring rounds.
