Well..... it is.
Why do people who say the heavyweight division is awful post about it so much?

Okay.
But you RARELY post about it, same as I don't post much about super-featherweight division, which I don't believe has much talent right now.
And that makes sense.
What I can't understand is: why some people who think the heavyweight division is in bad shape post about it more than any other division??

I think your best bet is to get over it and move on.Okay.

It's a boxing forum, people are going to post about every facet of the game.
If anything, if there WAS a place where the shitty heavyweight division would be discussed, it would probably be here.Comment

Because they like to argue and get a rise out of the klit fans. They don't think it gets old to slap a 'TKO 6' in the face of other posters regardless of relevance.Comment

True.
And it's far wiser for the Klitschko fans to simply IGNORE the nationalistic Klitschko haters. By responding to their trolling, the fans are giving the haters exactly what they want.Comment

Roberto Duran dominated his division with clear superiority for a decade. It didn't stop the other fighters from looking like, winning like, and being incredible fighters, champions, and HOFers themselves.
That's a poor argument.
Tunney, you post constantly about the heavyweight division and more specifically the Klistchkos.
Do you post so people don't talk about them? Or do you expect only the people that like the Kliscthkos and the heavyweight division to post about it....like you do with Mayweather and Broner?
It's a boxing discussion forum and you are the most prolific Klischko and heavyweight poster, but you object with constant racial and nationalistic insults when other people talk, argue or even remotely disagree with your POV.
It's no wonder mate. You do exactly the same ****. Perspective buddy.Last edited by BennyST; 04-12-2013, 01:13 PM.Comment

Yes, I post about it a lot because
1) I like the heavyweight division
2) I like discussing the division with other people who enjoy it
The difference is, there are fighters I like at 140 and 147 (Garcia, Matthysse, Guerrero, Khabib, etc).
You don't see me say "the welterweight division is awful"

No, I never make racial or nationalistic insults. If I did, I'd have been banned long ago.
I'm not at all nationalistic, I have favorite fighters from many countries and all different races, as I listed in a post above.
I don't expect everyone to like the HW division, or like the Klitschkos. I understand that some people prefer to watch and support fighters from their own country. That's perfectly okay in my opinion.
I just find it perplexing that some people who don't like the HW division, yet post about it more than the divisions they say they DO like (if I don't like a division, for example I don't find the current 130 division interesting, so I rarely post about it).Comment

Again, it has little to do with the Klitschkos. They are carrying the division (fighting regularly etc). Its the contenders who are the problem. Those guys (Povetkin, Arreola, Fury, Price, Haye, Helenius, Pulev et al) need to be fighting more, and be willing to fight each other. Theres no ambition. They're just sitting around, waiting for the K-Bros to retire.
Thats the problem.Comment

@Freedom.
The raw talent is there. In terms of overall potential this current division could be very good. The issue is that the risk taking is not there. Lennox Lewis was pushed to fight Razer Ruddock by his 2nd year. A potential knock out would have stopped his career for a while, but they took the risk. Razer Ruddock mean while was pushed to fight Tyson early on as well. Golota was pushed to fight Bowe, than automatically thrown in against Prime Lewis. Now for Golota the 2nd opponent didn't quite work out, but the point is they(or their team) were all willing to take risks.
Do I think Tyson Fury have the potential to be as good as Peak Tony Tucker? Yes. Do I think Kubrat Pulev (if he was 5 years younger) could become as good as a Rid**** Bowe? I actually do.
Do I think Bryant Jennings and Wilder could become better than the likes of Ruddock or Morrison? Definitely. But the issue is they are not being pushed and are incapable of taking risks.
Jennings should be fighting Pulev.. not calling out Wladimir. Wilder should be fighting Fury.. not taking on Harrison. David Price fought Thompson and was taught a learning experience. Good for him. And I still say that's too late. He should have fought the likes of Thompson a YEAR ago.
I really do think this era is good/very good in terms of POTENTIAL. But if the fights do not get made.. they will not have the chances to bring forth these talents.
I blame this era on the promoters for wasting talent and not properly managing guys like Scott,Pulev, Price when they were in their mid 20's and wasting their physical primes. Yes heavyweights can fight till their mid 30's and still be good, but I feel like wasting the 24-28 years is a huge blow for any fighter. Heavyweights these days tend to let the peak physical years slide by without doing much and it's a shame. Just think about how good Pulev could have become if his current career took place when he was 25.
It's not the lack of talent, it's the lack of promotion and match making to bring the talent out.Comment
