Why do people who say the heavyweight division is awful post about it so much?

They probably just want to see something out of the norm which is Wlad not jab opponents to pieces for 7-10 rounds before stopping them in some fashion. This was the allure of Haye, people thought with his attributes he might have a chance of a devastating early ko win.
I personally like watching Wladdy methodically break down opponents, you get to watch his skill and most of the time get the stoppage ending.Comment

I think of it as the cold war mentality. I'm American and love my country but I think many discredit Wladimir and Vitaly because they have been brain washed through movies and our own propaganda that Eastern Europeans are bad. If an American were champion now and as dominant as the brothers, people would be calling him the greatest heavyweight ever. In truth neither Klitschko has a great resume, but they're rock solid and these two gentlemen are fabulous ambassadors of the sport. Hating an entire era just to belittle to great fighters is just petty!Originally posted by Freedom.THIS ^^^^^^
If a boxer is defeated by a Klitschko, then they say he's a bum.
In 2005 some (like Teddy Atlas) were saying Sam Peter could be the next great heavyweight, but after his losses to Vitali and Wlad, they started saying he's no good. Calvin Brock was another fighter who was highly regarded until he was KOed by Wladimir.
No sense talking about the Klitschkos resumes, because they'll just say all the opponents they beat were no good. But the truth is Chagaev, Thompson, 2002 McCline, Ibragimov and others were good heavyweights.Comment

Because I do actually like heavyweight boxing but you got to call a spade a spade.
Just because I do enjoy good heavyweight boxing doesn't mean I have to like an inferior product which outside of one guy it really is, which leads to an even worse product at the top.
I would like it to be better and hope it improves soon but liking and hoping doesn't change the current reality of the division.Comment

This is a good thread, and it's all true. I definitely notice it too. I think they're all secretly fans because they talk about it nonstop. But it's obvious to all that they're bitter as hell that the champs aren't from the USA.Comment

I don't expect everybody to like it...
But I just find it strange that some people say the division sucks, yet keep posting about it more than the other divisions, day after day here and on other boxing websites.

I don't mind that "they" don't like K2 or that they wish an "American" would come along and take over. That's a normal reaction from fans of any sport with any allegiance to a group.
What I mind is repeated accusations of it being a terrible era and the Klitschko's being nothing more than also rans in previous eras, despite the mountains of evidence to the contrary.Comment

Fighters fighting more often is the only thing this era is missing that any great era has over it. Heavyweights are becoming bigger, faster, stronger and more talented overall from top to bottom.I don't mind that "they" don't like K2 or that they wish an "American" would come along and take over. THIS ^^^^^^They're just bitter, fat little people looking for any way to discredit the Klitschko brothers from what I've seen. I'd like to see the fighters fight more often but its been like this for a long time now. Its not something that just started in this era. The haters will say and twist anything to create the illusion of them being right.

The Klitschko's won't be truly appreciated until they're both retired and people will have time to sit a bit and reflect back on them.Comment
