No point in fighting Martinez at 154, it's better for him to fight Martinez at 160 and that we wouldn't see.

If Martinez has distributed any signs of struggling to make weight, then I would say ok.. he might have trouble making 154. But there is no indication that he will have difficulty losing 4 pounds from the weight he knocked out Paul Williams at.

There's no indication, and Martinez himself said he would go to 154 to fight Floyd. So what's the problem?

I would give Floyd full credit for this fight and I'm sure everyone else would too because we all want to watch fight Floyd an elite level opponent.
no i dont think so. Ward still hasnt gotten credit for demolishimg dawson cause of weight loss.

Who is saying Martinez can't make 160? He can make 160, he's comfortable at 160.

The question is can he mak 154 healthily? How long has it been since he weighed in at 154? It's been a while.

If he can make the weight healthily then I'm all for it. But, I'm not sure that he can.

You say "It's only 4 Lbs" but 4 Lbs is a lot of weight to lose when you haven't been there in so many years.

Saying "Martinez say's he can make it" doesn't really mean much either. Dawson said he could make 168 and what happened? He came to the ring a deadman.

I'm not saying Martinez can't make 154 healthily but it's definitely a possibility that he can't.

He should move down to 154 perhaps and have a tune up there and see if he can.

If he showed any indiciation that he had any kind of trouble making 160, I would suspect he couldnt make 154.

If he showed any indication that he had any kind of trouble making 158, I might have su****ion he couldn't make 154.

Sergio to me has always been a small middleweight. He only weighed in at 167 against Chavez.

This horse has been dead for long. Floyd don't want none. Time to move on. Now we push for the winner of Trout/canelo simple $h!t.

Of course he wouldn't move down for cotto or canelo, who would?
Well, he'd make a whole lot more money fighting Cotto or Canelo than he would Darren Barker and Matthew Macklin.

Would make sense financially to move down for those pay days especially if he wants a Mayweather fight at 154.

How much more money? Floyd is the only PPV Star.

Also, he wouldnt have the lion's share against Canelo or Cotto, like he would in his own weight class where he calls the shots.

Why would he go to 154 to fight Floyd when Floyd shows no indication of ever fighting him lol?

                  That's ridiculous.

Just because he makes 160 with ease doesn't mean he can make healthily. That's 6 lbs north. That's a lot of weight.

Even 158, 4 lbs is a lot of weight.

When's the last time he was at 154? A while ago.

And again, he's not a small MW. Anyone who is 10 lbs north of a weight 4 weeks out from a fight is not small for that weight.

You literally don't get where I'm going with this. You honestly think the world doesn't want to see this fight? Just that it's a hard fight to get behind when Martinez isn't making himself a viable option by campaigning at 154. Let me put it simple for you, if Martinez were to beat Canelo or Cotto at 154, HBO, ESPN, the boxing media would start stirring the hype for a Mayweather fight immediately, everyone would get behind it. At this point, Martinez has been vocal in saying he's not gonna move down for anyone but Floyd.
