According to Floyd Sr, Cotto was too big, too strong, too technical, too everything but at the end Manny won that fight!

Many of Floyd's WW opponents had just entered fresh out of a lower division.

Number of fights at WW before fighting Floyd:
    - Marquez = 0
    - Ortiz = 1
    - Hatton = 1
    - Sharmba = 1
    - Guerrero = 2
so he should fight senchenko or paulie because they have more welter fights?

I'm including all the people there that could pose a danger to him at the weight (notice I listed Ward, Froch, Kessler--not just one guy), which includes Trout/Canelo winner, Lara, Martinez, etc.

No, but he could have fought Margarito, Williams, Pacquiao, and Cotto at 147 (all of which had plenty of fights there). Instead at 147 between 2007 and 2009 we had to settle with Hatton (moving up from 140) and Marquez (moving up from 130).

may tried to sign on for a margarito fight in 2005/06 and got turned down. hell he tried fighting both marg and oscar and arum said no because he was too stubborn to co promote with gbp.

so no top rank fights were viable

Yea, so he spent his debut at 154 fighting a BUM, a cheater which is worse than a bum, someone who wasn't even RANKED on WW, JMW or P4P.
And btw he was number 1 P4P Pac was, was kinda fight is that for a number 1 P4P to take?????/

Sergio Martinez was calling Pac out at 154 back then and so was Paul Williams, Roach and Arum knew Pac would lose easily to both, so they took the easier fight.

              • I find it funny that people still mention Margarito's name. In hindsight I am happy that Mayweather didn't fight that cheating son of a bitch.

                • This thread has conclusively proved that the only people left defending him are hardcore fanboys. The excuses are now just comedy for everyone else.
