What people don't realize there on different network deals, Mayweather has a 6 Fight deal with Showtime and Maravilla still has 3 fights on his HBO Contract. It's not going to happen.

Mayweather is only contracted for 1 fight.

what fighters actually did earn it? dlh by beating whitaker....mosley beating dlh....

        mosley lost, jones took over
jones lost, floyd or hopkins took it
floyd is inactive and gets dropped, so pac took it

most of them happen by default

This isn't just a reply to you but anyone who has the same train thought.

If I'm in a fan of Mayweather I want to see him in a fight that has meaning. If he fought Martinez at 160lb I would be up for that, that fight would have purpose ( at the same time it is not something I realistically expect). If Martinez was to prove that he can still be effective at 154lb I would be up for Mayweather fighting Martinez at Jr. Middleweight. I expect Mayweather to fight the winner of Trout. Those fights would have value to me as a customer.

Mayweather vs a weight drained Martinez I have no interest in the same way I had no interest in Ward v Dawson. If he wants to beat a half dead bull so be it but I am not going to bitch about him passing on the fight because it is not a fight I want to see. Plain and simple.

the mysterious floyd mayweather p4p chronicles continue.....on this episode we examine how floyd got from #8 to #1 after the castillo fights.

floyd looked mediocre and in most observers eyes went 1-1 against castillo. he was placed at #8 p4p after both fights. a respectable position but with the closeness of both fights he still had much to prove. the next year he fought phillip ndou and victoriano soso. he moves up to #5.the next year he fights only demarcus corley and moves up to #2. the next year he fights gatti and becomes #1! you did it floyd you did it! proved it!

The reason Martinez, Canelo, Kahn, Guerrero, and all the other boxers call Mayweather out is because they all know he's the BIG payday. There is a about 10 other fights Martinez can make (and probably should make). He would only risk going down in weight to fight Floyd because that's where the money is. Floyd is simply saying, why is he obligated to fight Martinez (or anyone else) when in his mind he's been dominating the sport for 15 years. When Floyd gives any reason for not fighting Martinez, he's ducking. No one says a word when Martinez continue to fight the Murrays of the world.

I feel the same way. I mean it's funny they're giving me laughs here and there, but it's getting pathetic. I wonder if they know how ridiculous they sound?
