Yes point stands that a dirty cheat is being protected with a belt at lucas' expense. Peterson will be a champ if he loses but Lucas cannot be a champ if he wins. We all care about belts. This wouldnt even be a paper title as the winner of this fight would have a legit claim at being the top 140 fighter. You care, i care, just about all fans care about belts even if they pretend like they dont. This is the problem, we care so much, that belt organizations can get away with corruption. Paulie is holding Cano's title, but you see what kind of fight paulie having a belt has produced. Paulie-Broner would never be considered if paulie did not hold that title. Titles also bump you up in rankings. Morales was the #4 JWW after losing to Marcos and beating top 50 Pablo cano for a vacant WBC title, which in turn bumped Garcia's rating up for beating him. Belts matter a lot, GBP wouldnt be doing this fight at WW if they didnt
