Wlad has beaten everyone he needed to on his way to the crown.

Holyfield is one of my favorite fighters, btw. He's had one of the best careers, but Wlad would still be his best win (as goes for a number of the other all timers).

I believe the second Holyfield-Bowe bout is one of the highest level of heavyweight competition. I haven't seen a fight like that in awhile.

Wlad has beaten a string of BUMs, STIFFs, No Hopers and Ole' Men - and got BRUTALLY KO'ed a few times along the way.

Evander, OTOH, has beaten ATGs. Wlad would merely be a footnote on Evander's resume...

In his prime, Holyfield would stopped any version of Wlad.

Wlad would have toyed with him and made him look one dimensional. Even Evander's steroids wouldn't have helped.

The Tyson win would be better than a Wlad win in my opinion.

No. Tyson was long done at the time Holyfield fought him...

Nope. IMO It's Holyfield's greatest win at Heavyweight.

One of my favorite fights, a bit ugly at times but an all time classic conclusion. I remember the first round when Evander carelessly let his guard down and nearly paid for the price but getting hit with a straight right from Tyson.backing the ropes. His corner shouted to Evander "He ain't the bully, your the bully!" which demonstrated his corners mentality going into the fight.

I've never seen anyone other than Douglas & Lewis (who was even more cautious against an aged Tyson) force him to go backwards unwillingly. Evander really starts to get going at the conclusion of the sixth, hitting Mike with combinations forcing him to all the way across the ring until his back hit the ropes.

Mike was in turn one the one who was intimidated when Evander would not falter even after taking some vicious punishment in the fourth & fifth rounds he continued to push.

There were many pundits who were choosing Mike the consummate brawler who many felt would overwhelm Evander who had not since lost to Bowe in their finale of their epic trilogy. Probably Evander's greatest win, but it's overshadowed by the infamous ear bite in the second bout.

Bert Sugar - "When the intimidator fails to intimidate, he becomes the intimidated."

It's one of the reasons why Holyfield is an ATG. His will was unbreakable.

                      In retrospect,

He was robbed of his place in the highlights of boxing history by being the oldest heavyweight champ ever and also a 6 time world champ, 5 of them heavyweight titles....and having won his first world title in 1986 it would have made a 2008 victory over Valuev an unprecedented 22 years between world titles! In turn would have given himself some form of closure. But because of that disgraceful decision he's still looking for that 'Championship'. And well of course his kiddy bills LOL.

He is getting more and more respect in recent times though, I feel is is higher than Mike as an ATG accomplishing more at Heavyweight add the fact he is widely considered the greatest Crusierwieght of all time. He challenged for the Crusierweight title in only his 14th bout. Crazy huh?
