This is getting pathetic. Did Julio Cesar Chavez ever cry about Meldrick Taylor running?

Hell no. He just keep pressuring and body punching until he broke him down.

That's the difference between a great Mexican fighter and a Brandon Rios.

I didn't see him running at all, he box Rios in the final two rounds and land significant punches while doing so, Oscar basically ran and put his hands up in the last two rounds.

I was a little disappointed with his running but Alvarado is still a G, just 1 tier below Rios' level of G'ness but it's all good, he did what he had to do. They both took their 0's away.

When I watched the fight I knew some insecure Rios fan would freak out, look for an excuse, and make this thread.

[QUOTE=BennyST;13213955]In the last six rounds Alvarado, supposedly when he was running, threw more, landed more, landed at a higher % and landed more power shots in each round except one I believe which was even.[/Q

                End thread.

You mean Rios supposed to be this big time guy and he can't even cut off the ring?

Alvarado used his superior skill to beat Rios that simply did not adjust. Boxing is the art of hitting and not getting hit.

What Alvarado did can hardly be considered running. The guy came in with a game plan and had enough skills to put them to work. It was a great fight.

Meh, he just out boxed Rios.

What I don't get is how people are saying this should be FOTY (the ESPN poll is like 65% in favor). I thought Bradley/Provodnikov was better, from that standpoint.
