Schaefer also didn't come out that great on this rant, he looks a little desperate when in fact they are in a great position right now.

it could also be that the managers and fighters are the ones approaching hbo and not the other way around. that makes gbp a little worried that some of their fighters may not renew when their contract is up to have that change to fight on hbo.

That's like saying going to the CFL and leaving the NFL because your ex business partner runs it is a better move. It's not a smart move considering HBO has the TOP rated shows and 3 times the subscribers. See guys like you think with your heart and not your mind. The move wont effect die hard boxing fans. The thing is to get fair weather people watching it!! People who watched Game of Thrones and didn't change the channel or watched Treme or Watched TRUE BLOOD... That's the move. People who don't normally watch boxing but seen The Rios fight and was like WTF.. I want to watch this again. That's the business move. That's smart Business. HBO has fights lined up until Summer already. Khan is still trying to find an opponent. Things like that is why the Showtime move is ******. They should just have kept doing fights with both companies. Fighters will start leaving GBP to fight on HBO because its more money. EVEN Broner still says he is MR HBO.. You need some business SENSE... Your analogy is even silly. What it is like is if Coke said I won't put my products in Wal-Mart. Do you know how ****** that would be on Cokes behave?? When Wal mart is the biggest retailer in the country.
It was a childish move to beef because of the Canelo/Lopez situation but if it is indeed true that HBO is trying to get to fighters before Golden Boy or undermine them, just shows that HBO is in a more desperate position than Golden Boy because if HBO was all good then they would not even be thinking about getting involved with Golden Boy on no level because they would be good. Moving Floyd Mayweather Jr to Showtime hurt HBO because Schaefer still left the window open to work with them but they declined.
I'll tell you another thing. Schaefer is Swiss and one thing I know about Swiss business men, especially bankers is that they are about their business and money. I know a lot about industry dealings first hand and if your ex lawyer is juiced in at a network then you work that connect. If it wasn't sweet then Golden Boy would still be working with HBO. The Canelo/Lopez situation was just an excuse for them to make the move more blatant.

and you think shcaeffer's assertions is the absolute truth and not just speculations too? he issued out a cheap challenge and i don't think hbo will fall for it and waste their time.

Not saying HBO was wrong or right because it's their decision but to me from a business aspect. They seem more hurt about it then Golden Boy.
that's ridiculous. boxing to hbo's business is only like 5%-10% exposure compared to gbp whose entire business is all about boxing. not really siding with hbo but that company is a giant compared to gbp. losing gpb doesn't really have a big impact to their business...they got rid of gbp because they can as simple as that. they have a lot other business ventures that could make them busy.

Maybe he broke promises too..I think what's done is done. If he wanted to talk with hbo this is to the way to do it either.
Hbo is way more technically polished. As a consumer not likley that I'm subscribing to both plus all the ppv events. And if I had to choose..hbo for the replays alone.
He does have an opportunity here a really big one in shotime. Just gotta think it through.
