Why do people keep saying Showtime has crappy shows? Their current lineup smashes HBO. Shameless, Dexter, and Homeland are better then anything HBO has.

This doesn't hurt the sport one bit, on the contrary it energizes and promotes it. Boxing is the one sport where very little oversight exists and on top of that it's cloaked in constant intrigue. But look at it this way, we live in a culture that demands to be titillated and intrigued, even by the very very shallow. We live in a very shallow Kardahsian world, where drama, ***********ality, and hysteria reign with merciless supremacy. Look at Mayweather's public persona, all pomp, big talk and dollar bills. He knows he doesn't have to say anything substantive, he knows his audience thrives off of the slight of hand he's spoon feeding them.
Granted this is a two edged sword, so while boxing and all of its drama is making Floyd Mayweather a mint, it may be diminishing a sport that's storied and rich with tradition. The folks that have claimed boxing was dead or is dying need to open their eyes and see the real world. Boxing is filled with too much human suffering, desire, reward and defeat to simply vanish.

wtf who cares. If you're a boxing fan just watch all the damn fights and subscribe to both Showtime and HBO, problem solved. If you guys can afford a ppv fight, I'm pretty sure you can afford a subscription.Comment

You must live in a box.Or your not a boxing fan. You can't possibly watch boxing and have never even seen previews of either show.
I like game of thrones. It's a good show. I would watch Dexter and Homeland over it any day though. Nothing ever happens in Game of Thrones. It's so anticlimactic, and if I had to chose 3 good shows over 1 good show I would choose the 3.
Showtime doesn't have as good as movies, but it's already been said. If you area boxing fan then have both and watch the fights. I'm not sure why people are making this such a big deal and taking sides. Would you not watch boxing if all the big fights went onto CBS? Which owns Showtime.

And when gbp and hymen were in good with them, they fed them too many showcase fights and that's why they got cutoff!
