Zero fanbase and zero money? Talk about overstatements. HBO is very interested in Golovkin, any decent or top fighter will make very good money against Golovkin. At 160 pounds, in America, the only two fighters that will get more money are opponents of Martinez & Chavez. Besides that, no one will be getting HBO kind of money against anyone else.

I seriously don't understand the hate Golovkin gets. This guy comes to fight and he's a big puncher. He wants to fight the best. Obviously that's a problem when the best always have an excuse.

The only way i can make sense of the hate GGG gets is by assuming it comes from fanboys of other MW fighters or people who are pissed off at the hype some other fans bestow upon him but excuse me for getting excited about a fighter who was a Dominant amateur at world level and who brings the ruckus as a Pro. I mean he hasn't done much really but the power and skill is there to see plain and simple...
U knew Mike Tyson was a badass even when he was smashing guys of Sammy Scaff and Donnie Long's caliber

        Agreed.

I'm sure some people will say, "I hate Golovkin because his fans overrate him!". Which is ******ed if you let a fanbase affect your opinion of a fighter. People are excited about Golovkin, myself included. How is this a bad thing?!?! It's good for boxing. Plus, people always complain there aren't too many big punchers in boxing these days, well here is Golovkin who has a lot of power...and people hate! Sorry not everyone is a defensive wizard with little to no power!

I hope Ishida doesn't have permanent brain damage from this. Did anyone actually see him get off of the canvas or did they just pan over to Golovkin in the ring and escort Ishida off on a stretcher?

If he can't get a fight with a top MW in the next 6 months, he should issue a challenge to Ward for his title. I seriously think he beats Ward up and when he does, he'll not only be the #1 p4p fighter but he will be a superstar.

This is exactly what it is. Fans of other MWs are pissed and ashamed their fighters are ducking so they **** on Golovkin to divert attention and make out Golovkin as the ducker

The more punchers in boxing the better! EVERYBODY loves a puncher and a KO! KO's like the one he pulled on Ishida last night are the Home Runs of boxing, they are why the majority of people tune in! And they are also what brings in new fans! Do i appreciate the craft and subtle skills of Bernard Hopkins? I sure as **** do, the masses and new fans cant grasp what they are seeing though and just love a rumble and a KO! At least until they understand the game better anyway...

I admit, after rewatching the KO when I downloaded the fight, the guy's power is just unreal. He lifted Ishida off of the canvas and shut off the lights with one punch. I'm sure Sergio would surely accept the fight but I don't think DiBella wants any parts of that fight. If Sergio actually makes a statement saying that he doesn't want the fight, then I'll be ashamed but at the same time don't really blame him. He is nearing the end of his career and I'm sure risking brain injury at this stage of his career isn't on the top of his list.

Time is ticking for Golovkin though seeing as he is already over 30 and that big shot at 160 may never come. I would personally favor Golovkin over Froch, Ward, Bute and Kessler. They may be a little bigger but with Golovkin's power factor, I think he breaks them all down in a fight.

GGG is a monster. I need Chavez, Quillin, and Martinez to fight GGG. Maybe he can move up and face Andre Ward.

Think you're the only one saying he should move to 168 which ain't gonna happen or shouldn't happen at least. He's already knocked bute spark out in the amatuers so I know who I'd bet on in that fight.

This makes a lot of sense as why to avoid the top guy in your division.....wait no its not
