Comments Thread For: Photos: Golovkin Retires Ishida With a Deadly KO Win

WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin kept his unblemished record intact with a third round knockout of Nobuhiro Ishida at the Salle d'Etoiles in Monte Carlo on Saturday. After picking up steam in the second round, Golovkin (26-0, 23 KOs) delivered a powerful right-handed blow, which caused Ishida's head to crash into the ground. The 37-year-old Ishida (24-9-2, 9 KOs) was stopped for the first time. Prior to the match, Ishida promised to retire if he suffered another loss.

As expected early knockout for Golovkin then, hopefully one of the top middleweights will man up and fight him. Want to see martinez fight him after he knocks out martin murray but hearing talks of rematch with that big bum chavez jr isn't promising.

This wont help him get a fight with Martinez.......at all.

If anything this KO made his chances worse.

The "he hasn't fought anyone" excuse will be used to stay
          away from this dude.

That is true, but Ishida usually doesn't fight middleweights. He fought at 154 almost his whole career.

loud mouth chavez jr will continue to duck GGG. jr is already using GGG's name to promote his return to the ring. but he will continue to duck. sergio martinez is a safer fight for jr even though he spanked jr for 11 rounds.GGG will knock jr out cold.and i'll be there to lmao.

Yeah thats true but he has the size and frame for MW, he's probably more durable up there anyway. Maybe.

Either way Stunning one punch KO of a tough guy, excellent shot. Dude was in there pitching though and had no fear
