My only take from this is that Floyd is saying that he "don't really know" meaning, he doesn't know Ward on a personal level all like that. Sure he knows who he is, but doesn't mean he "knows" them.

That's what I thought that meant. Me and Floyd could take a picture in a parking lot, spit 2 minutes of boxing talk and be on our merry ways, he might know my name afterwards, but he doesn't know me.

Other than that...I took nothing away, other than perhaps he feels Ward and Co. are poorly managed

FWIW, you would never hear Andre make an excuse not to fight someone. He is a real fighter, a true throwback and what the sport of boxing needs. That bothers Floyd and you can see that in this interview.

Are people just purposely ignorant about Ward using the nickname S.O.G.? He's not saying he's THE son of God, he's saying he's A son of God.

As for the rest, just typical douchebag Mayweather. Nothing new. Maybe Mayweather's salty that more and more people think Ward's a better fighter. Not sure why else he'd go off on Ward this way.

The thing is, it can easily seem like he is actually calling himself that. If he is truly a devout Christian, why even get close to terms that can be considered as blasphemy? Why not say soldier of god, creation of god, anything that steers clear of generating controversy amongst Christians, bible followers, etc? But since he lays claim that it means a son of God, he is standing in open fire for criticism. Makes no sense to me. And I aint even Christian or the like.

I do and have felt this way for a while.

I've said it once and I'll say it again; Outside of Roy Jones in his prime, Ward is the only fighter that I have seen that I felt was close to unbeatable.

Mayweather has never giving me that impression at all. In fact all he has to do is fight Martinez at 154 and he will get his @ss KO'd.

I have complained about him not fighting outside of Oakland but never said anything about him not fighting Bute.

That's pretty much the only knock I have ever had on him, in which I stated it was unfair to have all of his SS fights in Oakland while other fighters had to travel.

But that was before the Froch fight, in which he fought at a neutral site and pretty irrelevant to the conversation as he has clearly fought the best, something floyd hasn't and will never do.

Mayweather is right about Ward. The whole "Son of God" is rather strange and seems phony.

Considering he's such a dirty fighter, and uses shady home referees like Jack Reiss who permit him to foul as much as he wants, Ward seems like a hypocrite to me.
