Rigondeaux is an exceptional, superb, A+ once in a lifetime fighter. Lol.

If he does beat Donaire not only will I pay you the e-points, congratulate you on your pick, but I will jump right on the bandwagon and sing his praises which I would normally reserve for a more experienced fighter. Win or lose I hope this kid goes places.Originally posted by Tom Cruise View PostI think this is a close fight and in my head ive flip flopped loads about who to pick.
Right now i think that Rigondeaux will take this. Firstly i dont believe Donaire is as good against when he is forced to lead (which he will be), and also the elusiveness of Rigo is something that Donaire hasn't had to deal with to the level that Rigo will bring. One thing is for sure, Donaire will not be catching Rigo off of lazy right hands (Montiel) or from rushing in (Darchinyan), he is going to have be much smarter to land the bingo punch.
Other than the KO it i think Donaire best chance is to outwork Rigondeaux, who can become complacent in fights. However Rigo's style definitely does not lend itself to high activity due to his hard counter punching style.
In terms of ability i completely agree with Dan that Rigo is a special fighter, his Am achievements and the speed he's progressed as a pro are evidence of that. If he had been a pro his whole career i have no doubt he would have been up there in the p4p discussions.

That would be quite funny considering Donaire fans like to constantly bring up Rigo getting caught off balance by a jab & touching down.
And who won that fight?? Donaire win it comfortably!
Just look at Video of that Donaire lone loss, I havent seen it, I heard the guy his fighting was 16 lbs bigger. I wanna see it!Last edited by Pacdbest; 03-13-2013, 11:52 AM.

Oh so Donaire gets a pass where as Rigo is labelled as having a glass jaw for the same thing despite Rigo actually being against an even bigger guy who hits a lot harder and is just well flat-out better than Concepcion, I see how it works!
It was one weight class & he hardly won it comfortably!
